Qjenk posted this in the OT thread. Deserves a stand alone thread though.

Ma’Khia Bryant squabbled with two other teens about a messy house and an unmade bed before she was fatally shot by police, her foster mom said in a new interview.

Angela Moore told CNN that two of her former foster children came to her Columbus, Ohio, home on Tuesday for her birthday when 16-year-old Bryant began bickering with the others about housekeeping.

“It was over keeping the house clean. The older one told them to clean up the house because ‘Mom doesn’t like the house dirty,'” Moore recalled being told when she arrived home from work.

“So that’s how it all started,” she added.

Police on Wednesday released dramatic bodycam footage that appears to show Bryant lunging with a knife at a girl before she was fatally shot by a police officer who was later named in reports as Nicholas Reardon.

He had been placed on paid leave pending an investigation after the incident.

The foster mom told CNN that the girls “argue all the time,” adding that she “never thought it would escalate like that.”

Moore said she got a frantic call from one of her former foster children, who is seen on video wearing pink as Ma’Khia lunges at her with a knife.

“‘Mom, get home! Where are you? They’re going crazy,'” Moore said the young woman told her. “She said they shot Ma’Kiah and I said, ‘Huh?’ It was just crazy.”

Moore said she then started to pray and soon got text messages from people saying, “I’m sorry.”

When she arrived home, a police officer told her Ma’Khia had died.

“She was fun. She liked to dance. She did chores around the house,” Moore said.

“I never in my worst nightmare would have thought it would ever come to this,” she added.

In all honesty, this is just a horrible, horrible situation a complete breakdown of reality and human respect.
TV, music, internet, YouTube, all show violence and piss poor behavior 24/7.

She didn’t learn this behavior by watching the Andy Griffith show we know that.

And until she lunged at the girl in pink with the knife and and screamed "Imma fricking stab your bitch arse" this would have mattered.

Going on a murderous rampage over a messy house doesn't seem to be something a mentally stable person would do.

Yeah...when my kids start arguing about the housekeeping, its everything I can do to keep the knife play to a minimum.

Ibram Kendi, of Anti-Racist book fame, was on the talk show circuit the last few night and said something to the effect that he found it hard to believe that if this officer had rolled up into an upper middle class white neighborhood he'd have been so quick to shoot in this situation.

It just made me laugh...who in the right mind thinks that any of this scene would take place in an upper middle class white neighborhood?!? There's a REASON black people who are in the middle or upper middle class and beyond don't move into predominantly black neighborhoods after all.

SAFETY.

When you diagnose the scene the LEO rolled up into, it's an absolute shite show. There is a violent argument taking place and does not slow down once it's obvious THE POLICE are there! In fact, the main stuff happened directly in front of his like he isn't there. A grown arse man kicks a girl in the face three feet in front of him, and the stabber pins the potential victim against the car and screams about how's she gonna stab her. ALL IN FRONT OF THE LEO STANDING RIGHT THERE!

I showed this to by 14 year old son this morning, and after he watched it he looked at me and said, "Wait, is someone saying he was wrong there? What was he supposed to do, wait until that big girl stabbed that other girl?" I then pointed out that this was all taking place in front of the LEO, which he hadn't really thought of. I asked him what happens in one of his school classes when a teacher walks out of the room. He said talking usually gets louder and kids will sometimes do stuff they're not supposed to do. I asked him what happens when the teacher walks back in, and he said everyone stops.

Truth is, part of the problem is the total lack of interest anyone had there is acknowledging the presence of the person who was there to keep the peace.

Sounds more like it was caused by lack of impulse control.

Most murders happen when the murderer has a brief moment of blind outrage. The outrage trigger can be something serious or something insignificant and anything in between.

I feel bad for ma'khia.. because she was only 16.. I don't want any kids to die.. be it her or the girl she was trying to kill.

It was a justified shooting, imo.. but the whole situation is sad.

Yes, sweetheart, it appears that I was plowing your best friend in our bed, but you don’t know all the facts yet or the backstory. She came over to see you, and you weren’t here. Wait a few more days while I concoct my personal truth. Thanks.

This chic I used to work with got mad at her boyfriend for playing video games and stabbed him in the chest. He didn't die. She was black.

I've met quite a few black men who were stabbed by their girlfriends. One of them said his gf slowly tried to poison him by putting it in his coffee everyday. After being sick and having bloody stools he went to the dr and found out he was being poisoned. She admitted it.
