If we’re placing that much emphasis on history and using it to so confidently predict the future, then history also says that Desantis needed Trump’s endorsement and proactive support to win that office. Thus would still need it again.

Did you sleep through the 2022 elections?

In 2018 Trump helped RD with name recognition in the primary against the GOPe pick Putnam, but he did that almost a year out and the race was back and forth during the months that followed. DeSantis still had to campaign and it was a close vote, and the general was even closer. I think a lot of people have the perception that "Trump endorsed him and he cruised to victory", and that just wasn't the case.

His 2022 results speak for themselves.

Maybe RD should’ve applied some of his cache to assist in the most recent Georgia runoff elections. I don’t recall hearing from him much at all in that regard, if any.

Maybe Trump should have endorsed a candidate during the primary that could string more than two words together.

Unfortunately he based his endorsement on Walker being a celebrity and even Brian Kemp couldn't drag him across the finish line

Ok so then on the flip side of the coin we going to have to give him the credit for the House flipping Republican.

Or... In other words ... There's more clean up of Broward county that Ron needs to do. First it was the sheriff, then head of elections... Now public works?

House doesn't flip without RDS going against the establishment R's in the state legislature over redistricting

Are you referencing the seat Trump handed to the Dems?

Oh, my bad. Ok, so Trump gets the credit for the Senate not going Republican (noting that we didn’t hear from Desantis in those critical races), but House does flip Republican - and although there was a relatively lengthy list of Trump endorsements that contributed, unlike the Senate situation being attributed fully to Trump, not so with the House. And in fact we’ll award Desantis with some credit while we’re on the subject.

I mean, what can you even say to those assertions. Speechless on my end.
