Can we say Trump should take credit?

Then you have to give Biden credit for 2023 and 2024, which would be awkward for many on here who didn't do that in real time

I never said you did. You brought up data

Your data is bullshite and you know it. Like Bidens BLS job numbers

quote:

Then why aren't you addressing OP and telling him he's wrong and Landry is cooking the books?

You and the OP are both fos. Landry is cooking the books. Law enforcement isnt evem reporting crimes

Are you saying down from the temporary Covid spike, or a downtrend overall that is representative of data prior to the Covid spike?

You mean giving someone credit for not breaking records of sky high crime and inflation year after year after year? You know you can't always keep breaking all time high records right?

This

There was a post-Covid spike in crime nationally that started reversing in 2023 in most areas, and had continued on that downward path since until today.

There are a few exceptions like Baton Rouge and one of the Alabama cities (Birmingham?)

You need to educate yourself on the data

Crime rates were plummetting when Biden left office.

It looks like to me that New Orleans crime is down versus pre-pandemic levels.

The huge piece of the puzzle, according to NOPD, is working with ATF and DHS.

I would hope more cities would do this. St. Louis desperately needs to address downtown crime and the perception of downtown crime.

Do you think most people you are arguing with are denying that crime spiked during Covid?

Right...as I said...what goes up MUST come down. But celebrating reductions from all time highs is a joke

They're arguing the data that supports their partisan position is real and the data that disputes their partisan position is fake, even though it comes from the same general data set.

Except for SDV, who saw the hypocrisy and dishonesty and called it all fake.

But it's often down below 2019 was

It's more a return to the pre-2020 norm or doing better than that in many cases

what was really plummeting was the 'official records' of those crimes - they just stopped reporting many crimes and 'let them walk' rather than risk putting their 'crime is decreasing' narrative in jeopardy.

but you know this -

And you came to this conclusion from somewhere in Texas?

For whatever reason, NOPD with adequate resources is doing a better job…

I don't credit NOPD with the drop in crime. I can't identify the precise societal causes but I think people are just committing less crime.
