I agree with you regarding Massie. I would vote against him, but Comer is my rep.

That said...

This masshole stuff is stupid.

Massie was born in West Virginia and raised in Lewis County. That place is rural and has a population of 13000. Its county seat is the only incorporated town and has a population of 1400.

He married his high school sweetheart. He started his undergrad at MIT in 1989. He finished his masters in 1996. He and his wife started a tech company while in college, grew it to 70 employees and sold it in 2003 to move back home.

In 2011 he became Lewis County judge executive(County mayor)

What part of that signals Masshole?

His campaign website explicitly describes him as fighting for President Trump's "America First agenda," .

Bill Cassidy and John Cornyn's campaign websites say the same thing!

He did lose.

By 118 votes. It was a solid arse kicking. /s

To a Republican that ran on the same vision.

Trump is going live in Kentucky any minute. Are you in the audience? Shoot a thumbs up or flash your Breasts if you're there.

Why would you assume that? Do you have a connection to that district?

I did not know anything about Gallrein before today and I can't vote for him, but he seems solid.

Voter Guide

He's raised about as much cash as Massie. I don't think it would be a slam dunk. Massie wouldn't win in my end of the state.

The "Never Trumper" label comes from attacks by Massie and his supporters. Massie has highlighted that Gallrein changed his voter registration from Republican to independent in May 2016 (shortly after Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee) and stayed independent until switching back to Republican in June 2021 (after Biden's inauguration).

So, Massie doesn't support Trump's agenda, but is campaigning by claiming his opponent is a NeverTrumper.

Where are these principles people keep talking about?

Will any of Massie's supporters be willing to admit that this is a typical politician move? Much like it is when Cassidy claims he is pro-Trump.

propaganda works folks. He does support Trump's agenda, except where Trumps' agenda intsects with the Democrat agenda. Which somehow... makes Massie a democrat.

Slight correction. Massie supports the agenda Trump ran on.

Massie didn't jump off into the deep end until his wife passed away. My wife, who never follows politics until 60 days before an election, blames the new wife.

New wife or not, that's when it started.

Massie is never making his austere scholar quote two years ago:

quote:

The Ayatollah was not a president. He was a religious leader from a region notorious for radical Islamists. The United States and Israel turned him into a martyr
