And let’s not forget that any votes they say he lost from 2016 to 2020 would have to be made up with new votes as well. In other words, take for pure example the number 7 million, if they were to say “Trump went off and chased away 7 million former voters.” He’d have had to replace those 7 million lost just to get back to exact number of votes he got in 2016. THEN add 12 million give or take on top of that. Thus ~19 million increase in brand new votes earned in the 2020 cycle. Sounds like a pretty popular fella to me.

“Divide and conquer “ via “sewing discord amongst the brethren”. The Leftist Dems remain totally lock step, regardless of how dirty they get. If the Right hopes to beat them then they must do the same. Securing and hardening our schools with lethal guards and entry choke points is the way to do that. Let the Dems stand against that.

The pollster who was with him when he stated it. Richard Baris. Look it up.

That is not "stating it". You know this. He needs to go on record in front of a camera.

When DeSantis is asked by the media about running for President he does not say and I will paraphrase "if Trump runs, I will not run". Nowhere has he said that.

DeSantis when asked about running for President he usually says looks forward to being Gov of FLorida or running for reelection in Florida.

And who the frick is Rich Baris? Isn't he a Trump pollster?

That is akin to Saban saying he isn't taking the Alabama job or Tuberville saying he isn't taking the Auburn job. You ought to know how this works by now.

Just goes to show you that the left’s hatred of Trump had nothing to do with Trump’s demeanor. If DeSantis has a polished demeanor opposite Trump then shouldn’t they be happy? He’s NOT what they claimed they hated In Trump.

Fish off the coast of Florida are testing positive for a slew of pharmaceuticals as human wastewater makes its way out into the sea.Researchers at Florida International University and the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust - a nonprofit based in Miami and focused on bonefish and tarpon conservation - studied the two types of fish found in Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys since 2018.They collected blood and tissue samples from 93 bonefish and tarpon in the area, and found that each one had an average of seven drugs in its system - including antidepressants, blood pressure medications, prostate treatment medications, antibiotics and pain relievers.

No, the politician is not Donald Trump but rather Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who lately seems bent on executing just about every page of the former president's political playbook—only with a sunnier demeanor, less offensive language and fewer of the personal antics that make Trump so polarizing.

And this is what will get Desantis elected.

Donald Trump is a shitty, egomaniacal, toxic politician. Had he comported himself with the dignified firmness of Ron Desantis and political tact of Ronald Reagan, he would be president right now.

I love DeSantis but how does he poll in the Rust Belt? That is my main concern for DeSantis, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and PA. Need half of those states to win the presidency.

Does he poll as well or better than Trump in those states?

You can't possibly believe that what's being said now will matter when the election rolls around.

Make no mistake about it. If Donald Trump decides to run, he'll force all of us to choose between a guy who will never sit in the Oval Office again or a guy who's possibly the second coming of Ronald Reagan and if that happens, you can kiss the kind of conservativism you want to see in this country goodbye.

Because if Donald Trump wants the White House and can't have it, then no one will have it.

Men who want a second term in the White House don't behave the way Donald Trump behaved.

The media is trying to start a war between Trump and DeSantis

This is politics. The war already exists. The media isn't starting jackshit. We're talking about the highest office in the land.

It amazes me as to how naive people really are, believing these two have some sort of gentleman's agreement when it comes to the most powerful political office in the world.

You can't possibly believe that if Ron Desantis wants to run for President, he's just going to step aside and say take it Don, it's all yours.

If he's lucky and I mean really lucky, the next time Donald Trump sees the inside of the White House, it'll be as a dinner guest.

I don't really care that DeSantis is classier and less crude than Trump or whatever the common refrains are.

I like that DeSantis can articulate why we believe what we believe, and he can do it on the spot in the face of hostile opposition. Perhaps that isn't significant to most conservatives, but it's something I care about.

Very Reaganesque.

This is why you get an upvote.

Trumpers need to wake up and get on the bandwagon. DeSantis has an opportunity to become a great President and achieve things Trump never could.

Gawd yous people are insufferable. No Trump in '24 person doesn't see potential from Desantis. They just see a need to have Trump clear DC out for him for 4yrs.

Desantis is in his early 40s, so has plenty of time. Term out as FL governor then go for 8 easy yrs as Prez, after Trump has gone scorched earth on DC. Placing Pro-AF peeps in place Desantis will be wasting his first few yrs in DC if this doesn't happen, and then he has to be in reelection mode.

Desantis would be rarely known by anyone on here if Trump hadn't supported his gvnrs race, so yeah Desantis owes the guy the respect.

It really isn't that hard to understand the game plan.

I don't know if he lost or not and neither do you. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, maybe go frick yourself.

But what I do know is this. If he runs again, he won't see the inside of the White House. That's for frickin' sure.

I never comment on these Trump/Desantis threads but here's my take. If he runs against Trump after saying he wouldn't I won't vote for him. That turns him into another lying politician you can't trust. I don't see them 2 running against each other though.
