The only thing even funny about it is that Gavin literally tries to copy Trump tit for tat, every single time, and it's a hilarious failure.
The Left can't meme, and their "humor" died sometime in the 1990s. There is literally nothing funny about putting an Uncle Sam hat on JD and round circles around his eyes while adding a pitch inflection to his voice. It is, in fact, the opposite of funny. It comes across as petty and wholly juvenile.
Putting a 'stache and sombrero on HJ was hilarious because of the satirical nature and completely unexpected and paradoxical delivery. The follow-up meme with the Mariachi Trumps was even better and only added more value to the original.
The Left is desperate to call ANYTHING a win. They've lost the culture war because they lost their sense of humor, and with every passing day, they lose more of their influence in the mainstream over a populace that finds them to be growing exponentially more insufferable. The Right is dominating mainstream culture because they've adapted to the changing times, foregoing traditional public relations in exchange for masterfully trolling their adversaries with snappy wit at completely unexpected times. Politics is no longer boring, and it's because the most boring party in world history became the most exciting in a very short timeframe. It also doesn't help that the Dims are trying to, you know, actually physically murder their opposition. That generally gets noticed by voters.
