The third person to have allegedly escaped from managed isolation was Martin James McVicar. He allegedly absconded from the Distinction Hotel in Hamilton on Thursday evening before entering a nearby liquor store and reportedly buying a four-pack of Leffe Blonde and a bottle of pinot noir.

What's their stated reasoning for putting these people in quarantine? It's can't be for Covid if they've only got 1,500 cases. That's crazy.
I do know that a lot of our players over here have been buying up a lot of land there in New Zealand in recent years. The Clintons for one. There's been a lot of speculation that they intended to move over there and go about wrecking that country once they had finished this one off. Their Orwellian systems are being ran unopposed over there because their Government appears to be 100% cabal.
I hope the people of New Zealand reclaim their country soon.

This is that easy peasy "contact tracing" and isolation and quarantine that many folks throw around so nonchalantly, without knowing what the hell they're talking about in terms of "Our President can't accomplish what alllll the other countries are accomplishing!"
And this is happening much more than we know, to one extent or another. Even if this were slightly overblown, which as maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but even if it's in the same neighborhood of this level, this is quite messed up.
But it's so easy!! Trump is just ignoring these methods!!

They're forcing anyone arriving in NZ into isolation for sufficient time to show that they're not infected. The quote that New Zealand is going to be isolating people for months and years is used to mislead - if you watch the clip you see he means the policy will be going on that long, not that individual people are being held that long.

If they're involuntarily forcing people to quarantine upon entry to the country, it stands to reason that they ain't just gonna let you go on way with a promise to self-quarantine if they determine you're positive. The key thing here is "involuntary". Being guarded by soldiers. Here in the U.S. I'm guessing that would be just a tad unsettling.

I don't know about that. If we'd clawed and scraped to get our infection down to zero, I bet we'd be imposing some pretty strict restrictions on outsiders coming in.
The other things other countries are doing is restricting travel from certain places like here where prevalence numbers are so bad as to make our passports more or less worthless for the moment.

Well then at least we should be able to say that none of the glut of people referenced in this article are Americans. 'Murica!!
But yeah, I agree that the harsher the restrictions and methods, the better the results. There's just a tradeoff that would have to be accepted.
