If we don’t start reverse engineering our society to make it easier for younger people (education, healthcare, housing, raising kids) and stop continuing to give handouts to older people out society is going to collapse anyway.

People not having kids anymore is a huge problem that nobody wants to get serious about. Young men are also particularly vulnerable and we’re starting to see real symptoms.

This is one of my soapbox issues and it can be approached from a pro-life angle. We need people to continue having kids if we want pensions funded. Our entire society is reliant upon continued progeneration to support the system as people age. If we continue to make it more undesirable to have kids, the fertility rate continues to decline and eventually all those social structures that were meant to be there for an aging society will collapse. You can ignore it for now but eventually it's coming.

How about free breakfast and lunch for kids who stay out of trouble, get As and Bs?

Reward them for doing something positive.

If I had to justify “starving a kid is actually a good thing” I’d overthink the shite out of it too.

But you ARE starving children for your own benefit. There are hungry mouths and empty bellies in the world, yet you waste money to entertain yourself in comfort.

You think it is infeasible to require parents to feed their kids?

You keep dodging the question that proves your plan is retarded. What do we do with the parents who don't send their kids a lunch? If you miss one lunch, is it prison time? CPS shows up at the house and takes your kids away? What's your real world solution to hold these parents accountable?

We can argue about all the details, but the only thing I really can’t get past is a kid ultimately paying the price. Which in this context is not having access to a meal, despite whatever is or isn’t happening at home.

i don’t think it’s “punishing children” to ask why their parents who have access to taxpayer provided groceries don’t have food to bring to school? Nothing? Not even a PB&J? A hot pocket? A lunchable?

Where is the money going on these EBT cards? Are parents choosing to feed themselves with too much slop instead of feeding their children?

You think that kid is being nurtured in other aspects of life? You don’t care about that kid. You want to feed him so you can ignore him.

Theres that slippery slope fallacy again.

“There are starving kids in inner cities therefore you can’t go out to dinner! I am a smart!”

That’s gotta be frustrating for you, I get it.

Is that what you think the discussion is about…a parent who forgets to send lunch money?

Don’t be so dishonest.

Your entire argument is "there are starving kids in inner cities therefore you can't not pay you their meals"

5 or 6 years ago our school had free lunches for all kids. It only lasted 2 years. Now lunch is $3.75 a day.

Breakfast is free for all kids in the state

False, my entire argument can be boiled down to not punishing innocent kids. Full stop. Everything else is ancillary or ultimately irrelevant.

I’ve only said it like dozen times so I understand why you keep missing it. Maybe I should make a meme.

So tell me, what's the threshold and what's the response? At what point do we charge parents with crimes? Do the kids go into state custody? I'm trying to understand your position.

Schools should not be handing out free breakfast and lunch. It breeds a culture of dependency and entitlement.

Public schooling is already largely free for students. I don't see the problem with providing them with food while they are there.

Damn near every urban school district does this

A lot of rural schools do too.

I know tax money is paying for it, but I'd much rather see my tax money go to feed a kid than a lot of the other bullshite it is otherwise used for

Ain't the kid's fault they are hungry

What is your definition of "punishment"?
Who is committing the "punishment"?

At some point, you gotta take some responsbility for not reading anything. We're at 9 pages FFS.

You're intentionally avoiding being nailed down.
You believe I'm morally responsible for the children in my school district but you aren't morally responsible for kids one block outside of your school district?

Social justice teachers will just give out A’s and B’s to the oppressed yutes.

Then give C’s to Whitey out of principle.
