If you add his $400k salary that was donated to a government entity, it suddenly becomes $400,750 pretty quickly

Or do you really believe that if a fair tax passed tomorrow, that would be the end of lobbyist seeking carveouts
If inacted as written, yes. However, our politicians will always seek ways to enrich themselves, as evidenced by our present day tax code.
Let me reverse this conversation. Do you think it is morally right to tax someone more just because they made a few dollars more than their neighbor?

Relitigating the same shite that failed to bring down Trump in 2016 isn’t going to magically work this time. I gotta give you libs credit though, y’all never stop trying to get the bad orange man.
If you read what I've written on this thread you'll note that the first sentence I wrote was that my assumption is that Trump did nothing illegal. And the second sentence I wrote is that my issue isn't about Trump at all but rather our current tax paradigm and then every subsequent post has been about our current tax paradigm and not Trump. So what are you even talking about?

Wake me up when he does something illegal.

I'm saying it's suboptimal to have a system that's set up to allow way because it significantly advantages the rich.

You know it hurt like a motherfricker to admit that Trump was right when he said he had been under audit for 10 years, owing to the IRS dispute over the 2009 return.
The entire piece hinges on carry-forward losses negating large gains being something nefarious when it is literally one of the foundations of the American tax code.

Everyone forgets that Trump likely had more taxable losses in 2007-08 than any of us will ever see in a lifetime. And he gets to carry those forward to offset future taxable income.
I don’t think most people understand this point.

Trump is the sole owner of the Trump Organization, when he won he had to put his assets in a trust and lock out his control over the company
So he takes no income from the Trump Organization
He donates his POTUS salary
So I am surprised he even had to pay anything in taxes in for 2016 or since

I still don’t understand what you think is unfair about it.
