President Trump’s lingering unpopularity and intense frustration over his management of cost-of-living issues, in particular, have deepened Republican vulnerabilities as Democrats push to win control of both the House and Senate.
Likely voters favored Democratic candidates over Republicans by close to 9 percentage points in their congressional district — a metric that is closely watched by both parties as a leading indicator of political momentum.
Mr. Trump’s approval rating continued to languish at 38 percent among likely voters, essentially unchanged from the lows it sank to after he went to war with Iran. A majority of voters disapproved of Mr. Trump’s handling of every major issue included in the poll: the economy, immigration, tariffs, the war and, especially, the cost of living.
And voters said they trusted Democrats more than Republicans on not just health care and foreign wars but also on the two issues that powered Mr. Trump’s 2024 victory: immigration and the economy.

Trump has had a completely shitty and unforced 2026.
Not with immigration but with quite literally everything else. It was funny year 1 changing landmark names and all that but the Iran shite, fuel prices (I get it he doesn't directly control them, but his policy kinda sorta does affect it), and continuous rising prices. I get it why people are off the wagon. Feels like all the momentum he had a year ago is completely gone.

I saw the usually wrong NY Sienna polls. They had democrats gaining back Hispanics like a fevered dream.
No way all of the walk aways return dem to DSA.
It does feel like both sides are working on speaker hakeem to impeach Trump. PA folks are getting mail in ballot registrations, with others permanently getting them...

They are not too wrong. I am hearing from staunch Trump supporters and voters more and more how Trump has fricked it up this term. You add on the feckless GOP congress and the midterms will not go well for the GOP. Unfortunately.

The dipshit did MAGA in when he attacked Iran. It will go down as one of, if not the most moronic blunders in political history. The economy sucks, housing sucks, the AI bomb is ticking, trade is still highly globalist, corruption is as healthy as ever and Trump is building vanity projects and throwing MMA parties at the White House.

I think it's going to be bad because republicans/conservatives for some reason don't vote in midterm elections. I mean, if you have to have a midterm convention just to beg people to go vote, it's not good. Especially as insane and dangerous as is the current pack of democratic candidates.

That may be true, but I do not have short term memory issues, and I remember what it was like under a BIden admin. I do not want those policies to be reinstated. Democrats have absolutely nothing substantive that they are wanting to do differently to help the economy other than reinstate huge tax increases, reinstate all of the bloated spending for USAID and other NGOs , Open Borders etc. No thank you..

Only thing surprising to me is the immigration thing. But I guess hiring a DHS sec. that walked around with guns like she was special forces while putting masked, armed federal agents into neighborhoods wasn't exactly a look that most Americans are going to be proud of.
What is sad about the Trump Presidency is how many unforced errors there have been and with relatively little-to-no permanent change happening.

Yeah, well that is the nature of midterms historically. You don't go increase the chances of losing by what doing nothing like the senate and congress have done.
You also don't make moves that raise prices before the midterms. I don't disagree it would be much worse under the dems, but turnout is going to be bad unless something changes.
That's the facts no matter how good your memory is.
