Did it? I don't remember Orleans parish petitioning voters to see if they wanted the separate position filled or not, just a choice between who would fill it. That sounds like they wanted to continue what was largely a patronage position and not even give voters the chance to have a say on it or not.

Democratic governance was upheld. Because this was a state statute, it fell under the legislature and thus subject to the will of the entire state. The rest of the state either agrees or just doesn't care.so the only "threat" to democratic governance is those supporting the city/parish break the law by placing a person into a position which does not exist and then they have doubled down on that by trying to arrest the state's AG on childish pretenses.

A big, sad, sorry Fact is that New Orleans tourism COULD be Killing it! The unique nature, history, port, food, music, culture associated with the "City" itself/alone has such enormous Potential with an incredible national, worldwide market! The gross malfeasance and corruption, dysfunctional, incapable, racist Democrat mayors/leaders have SQUANDERED the gifts and opportunities the city possesses - Big Time!

For decades the tourism $$ New Orleans gets is largely "built in" or guaranteed with no effort, intelligence needed from city govt. Blessed with a city that would be (IS) so easy to market/promote/attract......they are barely scrapping the bare minimum that's available.

New Orleans is not an Entity alone, though they've long thought so; but one city within a much larger State of Louisiana. The people of La. deserve, expect the city to capitalize upon OUR natural, rich cultural assets, port, etc. New Orleans, however, is a corrupt disaster led by moronic dem mayors/leaders.

As far back as Huey Long - New Orleans et al has fought for control, power to remain independent and alone. Jeff Landry was stating a factual statement. Calling out, challenging the failed stewardship of it's leaders. leaders, reminder of their a factual signal of their steady demise

In many ways, not so long ago, the Mafia kept New Orleans in line, functioning. Now that they are gone, the city has struggled to survive, is violent/dangerous & population dwindling! New Orleans is a Gold Mine and has been in decline for far too long. Landry, once again, has the balls to shoot straight & tell them what everyone is thinking/feeling.
