Agree. But its the fedral govts job, not the city or states
The target for the feds are those who have been previously deported or who have an order of deportation already, AND have other arrests since then.
Yes, if they find others who are here illegally, they will take them too because they are in violation of the law.
But since when is it not the job of state and local law enforcement to arrest/target criminals and reduce the number of criminals in society?
Every local or state law enforcement agency has and continues to assist other agencies in arresting people with warrants from outside of their jurisdiction.
And federal officers routinely assist locals in warrant searches.

I dont blame her.
I probably wouldnt either. Its their fricking job and they have failed.

Why stick local PDs with millions or billions in expense when jail space is at a premium, when its the federal govt job to keep them out?
We went around this bush a hundred times in Trump’s first term when he was demanding that local police all over the country devote their man hours and jail space to immigration enforcement, and local police said they didn’t have the budget or space for it.
This is why Trump has built up the size of the ICE officer force.
This is a non-issue. New Orleans local police do not have excess capacity to take on immigration.

if I were the chief of a well staffed department that was well funded I might have a different position. But post Covid, thats not the case hardly anywhere.

Again-although I agree with you-here is the issue that Conervatives don't seem to be able to grasp. I AM NOT DEFENDING IT-only explaining it.
Jose enters America during Biden administration and presents himself at the border. He is given temporary status and told to appear at a future date in front of an immigration court. Jose does that and his status is extended. He gets a job and a temporary SS or employment number (can't remember what this is called). He works, buys a car, purchases health insurance and car insurance, has a very American life. His status keeps getting extended by mail. He quite literally has a document in his pocket issued by the US government that clearly states he is here legally (I know I know) until let's say October 2026.He has never received a deportation notice. These extensions have continued under Trump, He also knows he can be rounded up by ICE in a random sweep, given 3 minutes in an immigration court and deported. But he IS legal. Sort of. Until he's not.
This is the fricked-up reality that we have since Potato Joe.
I sincerely and humbly await correction. If you say "Pimp you don't know what you are talking about" I'm good with that. But tell me where I'm wrong so I will understand.

isn't she the dumbass who fricked up the NYE attack?
Yep, then she bragged on TV the next day that we had the equipment to stop it but she didn't know. She even gleefully showed the media the equipment out after the fact, then showed everyone how it (would have) worked. A true, ignorant, piece of human garbage.

They should just turn them over to ICE.

Approximately 63,000 federal prisoners are held in state and county jails, with the U.S. Marshals Service contracting with local governments to house them. Seventy-five percent of federal prisoners in the Marshals' custody are in state, local, or private facilities.
Total Federal Prisoners: The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) had a total of 155,367 federal inmates as of November 20, 2025.
Inmates in State and Local Jails: Of the total federal inmate population, over 63,000 are housed in state and local jails under contract with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Yes, your "shite laod of money" is so convinncing Junior.
How miuch?
Who got it?
Why is NOPD short so many officers?
Why are they hiring "civilians" to do some police work?
quote:
And yet, the city's follow-through has been slow. Last year, NOPD pledged to hire civilians for 50 new positions doing traditional police jobs such as fingerprinting and property crime investigations.

God dam 15% retarded.

The Sheriff estimates that the recruitment of additional personnel would entail a cost of $650,000, a figure that would be offset by the revenue generated from housing 18 federal inmates from North Dakota. With plans to accommodate approximately 40 federal inmates from North Dakota, Sheehan anticipates a revenue stream of nearly $1.5 million, a substantial portion of which will be directed towards servicing the new law enforcement center.
Looking ahead, Sheehan envisions a scenario where the enhanced staff levels will enable the department to manage over 100 federal inmates from various states. “We are equipped to handle up to 125 to 150 inmates through this expansion, with our sights set on the higher end of that range,” he reveals. The anticipated revenue from housing federal inmates will be instrumental in offsetting the costs associated with the new facility.
