New Hampshire Union Leader Endorses Biden - First Democrat in 100 Years

They endorsed Gary Johnson in 2016. Their tortured logic:
“Joe Biden may not be the president we want, but in 2020 he is the president we desperately need. He will be a president to bring people together and right the ship of state,” it said. “Sadly, President Trump has proven himself to be the antithesis of thoughtful and pragmatic; he has failed to earn a second term.”
-----
Doin some research on 2016 and Joe McQuaid the publisher:
Whether he wanted to or not, McQuaid had joined the side of a small but insistent group of mainstream conservative voices who opposed Trump and considered him a long-term threat to the Republican party. That included the National Review, the once-essential conservative magazine, that assembled a group of right-leaning thinkers into an issue titled “Never Trump.” Suddenly, the small-scale movement had a name.
As the primary fight dragged on, and Trump continued to rout the remaining contenders in the field, those voices persisted. In the end, they were hopelessly drowned out. Trump had captured the imaginations of voters in the party looking for a system upheaval, and he had pulled party elders and elected officials along for the ride as well.
It wasn’t that McQuaid didn’t see the appeal at the time. He saw the raw celebrity attraction of the man.
But, he said: “I didn’t know that star quality was going to result in people putting their hopes into this empty vessel and voting for the dude.”
“He’s a con man,” McQuaid added, “but he won the con.”

So, his temperament is wrong for office, despite having more foreign policy wins than the past 10 presidents combined?

If you consider yourself conservative in any sense and endorse Biden for president, you have what we call in the business an “identity crisis”

They still believe Trump is the reason the country is divided and not the huge ideological divide. Morons.

Trump is literally one of the few pragmatic people in Washington. Which is why he's gotten so much done with trade deals and peace in the middle east.

In the race that has dominated political discourse for the past four years the choice is murkier. There is no love lost between this newspaper and President Donald J. Trump. The Union Leader was very quickly dismissed by then-candidate Trump after we failed to bestow on him our endorsement in the Republican primary four years ago.
We were hopeful with Trump’s win that he might change, that the weight and responsibility of the Oval Office might mold a more respectful and presidential man. We have watched with the rest of the world as the mantle of the presidency has done very little to change Trump while the country and world have changed significantly.

frick that. The party or Marxists, 8 year old trannies, gun grabbers, cancle culture fanatics, and kiddy diddlers?
Progressives have gone miles too far to the left. Don't blame Trump for that move.
No president will unite me with their values.

The media and our lying politicians are the reason we have such a divide in this country. Trump is just stuck in the middle of it. He can’t do right in some people’s eyes, no matter what he does. He goes to Puerto Rico to hand out supplies and throws some to those in line, doing a good deed and the media portrays him as throwing rolls of paper towels at people because he thinks they are beneath him. The corrupt media and politicians are the problem.

Does anyone even care what a newspaper thinks any more?
As was posted earlier, sounds like they’re pissed off that he didn’t worship at their altar.

What’s the greater con? A guy voted into office that largely keeps his promises or a small party collective that insists they know best for us in selecting the hand picked leaders.

The only reason this would appear to be the case would be because those currently protesting think that Biden/democrats actually care about them - in truth they ONLY want their vote - and those of us conservatives don’t really protest because we have jobs and our evil traditional families to take care of and whatnot.
