Remember the good old days of advertising when men were just too idiotic to run the dishwasher or couldn't manage the simplest household chore? Now we're all responsible for some other guy's borderline behavior and share the blame for the most terrible members of our sex. How quickly do you think a company headquarters would be firebombed if it tried to do this to all women? Or any other group for that matter.

This is pretty goddamn stupid on the part of Gillette. I understand why people are pissed off about it - customers don't like companies chastising them.
This will be a case study in marketing classes about how not to conduct a campaign. Just beyond stupid by P&G.

That commercial was really dumb, on multiple levels.
I did get a kick out of the boys will be boys part. Do they really think that dad's sit around while their kids are throwing punches at each other? I get roughhousing and all that being "boys will be boys" but their example was as dumb as their entire commercial. Dad's aren't sitting at a neighborhood bbq and just watching their 8 year old sons just punch each other in the face
