Colorado resident. The governor just announced he's likely going to extend the statewide mask mandate. Trampling people's rights 30 days at a time.

The numbers in this state are objectively amazing. ~1300 cases and ~20 "deaths" over the last week, so realistically probably about 4-5 deaths. There is no reason for this to continue. The numbers in Colorado were low before the mandate, and adding a mandate has had no real improvement on the number of deaths.

Yet we here are, a Democrat governor keeping bars closed at 10 and making everyone wear masks because they enjoy the power and control over people. Even sadder that the residents are wildly in favor of being controlled.

I wish we could bring back the tar and feather treatment. I leave here in less than a month to go back to Texas and work on keeping it red. This place is a joke.

The Colorado Supreme Court also refused to even hear a challenge. People look at dystopian futures in fiction and chuckle about how things could never get that bad, then they willingly comply with the very first step of government assuming control they never should have.

Blows my mind.

Unfortunately they are a fact of life in Denver. Businesses actively deny entry and refuse service to those who don't wear them. People here are infatuated with whatever Democrats tell them.

The masked covidians are just as rampant here and our governor is a R.
I haven't heard him even talk about an end to the masks or a metric that would lead us there. I feel this is a forever mandate and the sheep love it.

I don’t understand how willing so many people are to just give up their freedoms. I don’t know if it’s because the media or what, but no one is questioning or pushing back. It’s bizarre!

Maybe it has a lot to do with the cancel culture and people not wanting to be harassed by the crazies.

Same with Louisiana. We have retarded Republicans that voted for a democrat because they were butthurt their preferred Republican lost the primary. So now we have to put up with dumbass dem policies.

Luckily, I live in NW LA. No one has said a thing about me not wearing a mask. Most retail employees don't wear them or just have them around their neck. My national company tries to enforce stupid covid procedures, but my customers thank me for not putting them through the bullshite.

Most people are fed up with it. Only idiots and democrats (redundant, I know) care about pointless masks anymore.

My local grocery store doesn’t enforce — and told me in person that study will continue to not enforce. Signs are up — employees have them (not always on their face) and ATC hasn’t said a word when they’ve been in.

I just avoid most places that I used to spend money unless I have to go in. I don’t just browse anymore.

Most of them are chains and have policy dictated from corporate, and even then I see people at Publix without a mask and nobody seems to care. I’ve eaten at a couple of family owned restaurants (one was BBQ, go figure) where the staff didn’t even wear them. Only over the top places I’ve seen are generic Asian take-out, and they act like the Black Death has come for them.

I'm in NW Florida too and this has been my observation as well. I've gone in a Winn Dixie, Dollar General, Home Depot and Office Depot over the past week. All have signs mandating a mask, but none enforced it having several people and some employees not wearing a mask.

The panic over this virus should absolutely be done and businesses need to be allowed to operate fully.

The only metric is a vaccine. Everybody better pray that a vaccine gets released, no matter how effective, because the mandate will be there until then, even in Red states.

Since this started, I have put on a mask 2 times. Once was to get a permit from local government in Louisiana and the other was to pick up a prescription at a pharmacy that required it. I’ve walked away from many places that said don’t enter if you don’t have a mask. I’ve told business owners I’ll not return ever again because they cower to the governor and have no spine.

If people would quit living in fear, stand up for themselves and tell the governors to shove it, there is honestly nothing they can do.

Most law enforcement will not enforce it, at least in rural areas, and the mass of people is much larger than can be controlled. This is what law abiding citizens forget.

I’m not saying be destructive like BLM and Antifa, but I’m saying stand and tell them to kiss your but.

I am a small business owner and feel the pressures of Covid every day. My pressure comes from the fact that it’s almost impossible to hire laborers because of all the government assistance. They will interview but don’t want the job. They only interview to keep their unemployment.

My vent is over.

Luckily our board here in Oxford voted to keep the bars open until 11 instead of the usual 10 pm on home Gameday weekends

So glad the virus knows to leave people alone at the bar on those 5 weekends for an hour

Better idea: I never started. Aside from a few snide comments from Karens it hasn't been an issue. I'm noticing more and more people who aren't wearing them as this drags on.

Nearly all businesses will place the "mask required" sign on their entry but in the vast majority of cases that's just their CYA for the State "order" and when I go in without a mask no one says a peep.

I saw a business last week that had a sign saying "the fuhrer polis states you must wear a mask unless you are medically unable to do so. if you come in without a mask we will assume that you are medically unable rather than embarrass you with questions or accusations".
