It's because 99.9% of the left is "neurodivergent" and are looking for any excuse to be retarded and not do their fricking jobs without having to face any consequences for it.

Indeed. Bodycam footage and footage from Shirley, Kirk & Co. certainly supports this.

My wife has mild AuDHD (diagnosed this year) and makes 6 figures and is beloved by her boss as the best worker in the office. You have no idea how many “normal” people this actually affects. I’m probably mildly on the spectrum myself and also a six figure earner.

No doubt there are people who beat the curve (Musk, Zuckerberg, YouTube physicists), but someone during QA actually mentioned a co-worker having a “puke bucket” at her desk. Sorry, but that dog ain’t gonna hunt in my office.

No, the answer is to hire the best candidate who interviewed/qualified for the job. I have a colleague who has panic attacks before giving presentations. But when it's time to go, the dude delivers every time.

Why should normal people have to accommodate the abnormal?

If follow my first point you don't have to worry. If they end up not being able to perform at the expected level, you let them go.

But normal vs weird should never come up in your decision process. By doing that, you give jobs to people such as the person at the conference you mentioned.

I am. It's called weaponized autism. But I'm about as right leaning as you'll find.

My daughter is "neuro-divergent". It's a challenge. I hope and pray we are doing the right things to prepare her for the real world, but the reality is that she must fail or succeed on her own merits.

We are actively trying to guide her towards a career path that will allow her to accentuate her strengths and be an asset to her employer. It's not her employers responsibility to accommodate her

That’s exactly what I was thinking during the speaker’s opening remarks.

The left invents new words for pitiful humans who can't function without accommodation, or special treatment, or crying, or bringing their Mommy to a interview or a stuffed animal or their puppy dog to meetings. The reason these people do this is because they are snowflakes and feel they need to get unusual privileges to feel OK about themselves, feel special in their tiny worlds. So, more and more wackadoodle groups decide to invent a word to describe themselves so that other people at work can work their arse off while they get accommodated and addressed with a pronoun. It's disgusting, and the ones that aren't faking to get attention and perks, and actually need it, probably should be at home on disability anyway.

Two things about this thread are true:

One, that the topic and requirement of you to go to a seminar on such a thing is completely obnoxious.

Two, you’re trying very hard to come off as really edgy and it’s boring and pathetic.

Do you think you got a single chuckle out of this thread, because I doubt it.

Anxiety and adhd? Picking through beads with Down syndrome kids? Are you fricking 9?

Maybe they’re suited to helping Down syndrome kids sort recycled Mardi Gras beads at Goodwill, but probably not a busy office where mental errors cost money.

Some of the most brilliant people in the world are on the autism spectrum. They don't all act like Rain Man. They may just be a bit awkward in social situations or need a quiet working environment (office as opposed to cubicle).

Providing reasonable accomodations for neurodivergent people to allow them to carry out their job is no different than providing ramps and wider doorways to allow people in wheelchairs to access an office space or providing a larger computer monitor for people with less than perfect eyesight.

“Why should normal people have to accommodate abnormal?”

Peak comedy.
Deep thinking.
