Nets suspend Kyrie Irving until he gets vaccinated

The Brooklyn Nets announced on Tuesday that star point guard Kyrie Irving will be suspended until he is fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, which he has refused to do despite being unable to play games in New York.
In a statement shared by sports journalist David Aldridge, Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks said, "Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant."
"Kyrie has made a personal choice, and we respect his individual right to choose. Currently, the choice restricts his ability to be a full-time member of the team, and we will not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability," Marks said. "It is imperative that we continue to build chemistry as a team and remain true to our long-established values of togetherness and sacrifice." LINK

He cannot play in half of their games, and that isn't their call, it is the governments.
They are doing the right thing for their team.
They are still going to pay him.

Kyrie can be a bit out there at times, but one of the few in the NBA who seems genuine. Strikes me as the kind of guy willing to take on this fight. Probably was offered a fake like LeBron, but passed on it.

Has Lebron gotten vaccinated yet?

So long as they are paying him, they are only hurting themselves.

Love it. No way he folds now.

Interesting wording. I get sacrificing for your teammates in terms of time and effort focusing on the sport. This is what I would assume if this was 2019. But it's 2021, so you never know.

It is part of the Vaccine Mandate issued by DeBlasio to my knowledge.
In my opinion unconstitutional but regardless, it is the rules the Nets have to play by.
It is one of the situations where I do not blame Kyrie or the Nets.
The Nets believe he can not play in 41 home games. If that is the case, then its best he is not there. Kyrie is still getting paid every dollar he is guaranteed.

Imagine trying to force a 29 year old NBA player into getting a vaccine for a virus that has virtually no chance of doing him harm?
If anyone was unclear this had nothing to do with the health and safety of America.

LeBron is “vaccinated” but many are skeptical.

What if the NBA just said nah he can play. Then guess what...he would be playing.

This is not feasible for a variety of reasons and you guys all know that.
