Need PT guidance on shutdown...

I need to get some perspective here.
I’m an essential federal employee, and I will be working for no pay until it ends. I’m also a conservative who voted for Trump, in part based on his promise of border security. I can stomach a few missed checks, but at some point this shite is going to start hurting. I want the wall, but I also like my house. I’m just not sure what to root for here.

Ok but again why not on the house? All they have to do is add $5 B to +trillion $ budget and it’s over. In fact the senate also has to sign off on a non-wall budget. The house is the only place against the wall.

You should have some kind of all-cash emergency fund in a savings account to get you through ~6 months, right? If you start getting to the end of that fund you need to start thinking about liquidating some of your other assets. Figure out what kind of penalties or costs you might have to pay to cash them out and weigh that against opening a line of credit or taking out some kind of loan.
At the end of it all you will be getting all your backpay so you should be able to get your emergency fund back up and pay off any debt you took on during the shutdown.

Trump could have gotten 25 billion (instead of the five he is asking for now) for the wall 11 months ago,
He kept adding things to his demand list until people stopped negotiating with him.
I am not even so sure he wants the wall, I think he wants there to be no wall so he owns that "issue".

It is a problem because the issue is not money. $5B is nothing in terms of the Federal Budget. Pelosi claims she won't fund the wall because she thinks the wall is immoral.
Meanwhile under previous administrations, Pelosi voted for most of the borderwall now in existence.
Regarding morality, the combination of open areas of border, along with moronic activist open-border judges, lures Central Americans to trek here with their kids in tow. Kids die in the process. We know that. Pelosi knows that. She couldn't care less.
So when she cites immorality of the wall, she's flatly lying.
This is about nothing but her beating Trump in what, for her, is an otherwise meaningless and painless negotiation. If she loses, so what; she "put up the good fight." For Trump, it is very different. For Trump, the wall is his "Read my lips, no new taxes" moment. If he fails, he may well be done as POTUS. IMO, Trump cannot cave. He can't. Politically, it would be suicide.
So unless Pelosi submits to reason, folks like yourself are screwed.
As her daughter says though, Nancy has no compunction about hurting people. "She'll cut your head off and you won't even know you're bleeding." Nancy won't do a damn thing because she feels sorry for you. Trump might. But the stakes are so high, he can't. The only way Pelosi will move is if optics demand it.
Again in that regard Pelosi feels no pressure whatsoever, because her MSM sycophants control the optics. So barring a miracle, unless thousands of you guys change those optics, unless you organize and march on her office, creating such a scene the MSM cannot cover it up, you could be looking at a very protracted process.
