Every member of our military personnel should be appreciated. When in the future confrontations will we need great athletes to rush the front lines? This is 2021. We need healthy minds willing to confront problems with the worlds issues. Not sprinters.

2 miles in 21 minutes is not that hard. Our coach in high school made us run the mile in 6 min.

Are the physical requirements of combat going to accommodate our lowered standards of fitness and ability? How nice.

Women don't belong in the military.
They're too expensive, too inefficient and bring far more trouble than they're worth.
Allowing women to serve in mainstream military roles defies the norms of world history and defies human nature.
I talked about the draft to a friend of mine who was a marine, and he basically said we already have too many in the military who don't do anything and make everything inefficient, why bring in more? He also said on the whole, women are burdensome and a distraction in anything close to a combat setting.

Not really. If you ever served, you know that there are plenty who are simply burdens to their units. Like people who can't run 2-miles in 21 minutes = and not simply because they can't run fast. The chances are that those people are in that condition because they have poor attitudes, are lazy and without any pride in themselves and by extension their units.

There is pretty big gulf between "great athletes" and those who can't run 2 miles on 21 minutes.
What makes you think we are doing the service members any favors by lowering the physical fitness requirements to the point there are for all practical purposes no requirements?

2 Miles in 21 minutes is "difficult" haha. If you can't do that then jeez
I think I can pretty much walk two miles in 21 minutes...

The run must be completed within 21 minutes.
1 mile in 10.5 minutes. A very fast walk would be enough.
ETA: and I'm about 6 weeks shy of 57 too

seriously, had to look up what a Hand Release Pushup is.
It's a pretty common option for scaling and making sure everybody is doing the full range of motion for a pushup, IE all the way down and all the way up.
Lots of people do halfsies where they don't go all the way down or up.

You guys are looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

Standards are standards. It effects promotion to retention.

Right now Russian and Chinese Military leaders have tears in their eyes from laughing so hard.

Superior race and gender.
Deal with it.
Deal with it.

The most difficult event for both male and female soldiers is the two-mile run, with 5% and 22% failing, respectively. The run must be completed within 21 minutes.
This is not hard

Holy shite, that’s jogging (with a soft j) 2 miles.

In the case of CSL you are now basically disqualified for promotion beyond O5 if you are on a no running permanent profile.

Nearly 1/2 of female soldiers still failing new Army fitness test, while males pass easily
Oh wait… that’s right. They’ll still be women so it won’t really work will it?

The old PT test was garbage. ACFT is fine, it's just so many soldiers are completely out of shape...hence the failing
Posted on 5/10/21 at 8:13 pm to EKG
Can we talk about how the passing rate for a 2 mile run is 21 minutes?
That’s an absolute cakewalk.
That’s an absolute cakewalk.

This is crazy. It’s almost as if there may be *dare I say?* physical differences between males and females. Like maybe males have a different bone and muscle structure that makes them naturally stronger than females? It’s a mystery I guess. If only we had some form of science to answer mysteries such as this. Maybe we could call this mystical science “human biology”. If such science existed, it could give us answers one would hope.
