Nearly 1/2 of female soldiers still failing new Army fitness test, while males pass easily

"Female soldiers continue to lag male soldier scores in all events," according to a United States Army Forces Command briefing obtained by Military.com.
Gotta say, I’m actually surprised the passing rate (i.e., one-half) is that high. Even the fittest female is a different sort of “fit” than what’s often required for the physical nature of the military.
Military.com
Here’s the part of the article that most rubs me the wrong way:
quote:
The data again raises questions about whether the Army's attempt to create a fitter force is creating more barriers to success for women.
The same “barriers” are in place for men who can’t pass.
When it comes to our nation’s defense, why would anyone in their right mind make this an issue of equity?
quote:
The most difficult event for both male and female soldiers is the two-mile run, with 5% and 22% failing, respectively. The run must be completed within 21 minutes.
The overall results:
quote:
Failure rate by event for men:
Deadlift: Less than 1%
Standing Power Throw: Less than 1%
Hand-Release Push-Ups: Less than 1%
Sprint-Drag-Carry: Less than 1%
Leg Tucks: 2%
Two-Mile Run: 5%
Failure rate by event for women:
Deadlift: 6%
Standing Power Throw: 15%
Hand-Release Push-Ups: 2%
Sprint-Drag-Carry: 12%
Leg Tucks: 22%
Two-Mile Run: 22%
The pass rate for women is up 12% from last year, yet enlisted women continue to struggle the most, with a 53% fail rate. Female officers have only a 23% fail rate, but that's still significantly higher than the fail rate for men, enlisted or officer.
Average Scores (360 needed to pass, 600 is the max):
quote:
Women
Enlisted: Pass Rate 47%, Average Score 343
Noncommissioned Officers: Pass Rate 65%, Average Score 363
Officers: Pass Rate 77%, Average Score 389
Warrant Officers: Pass Rate 71%, Average Score 370
Men
Enlisted: Pass Rate 90%, Average Score 461
Noncommissioned Officers: Pass Rate 95%, Average Score 478
Officers: Pass Rate 97%, Average Score 500
Warrant Officers: Pass Rate 96%, Average Score 454

Hey, they asked for equal treatment... let them have equal tests...

Women don't belong in the military.
They're too expensive, too inefficient and bring far more trouble than they're worth.
Allowing women to serve in mainstream military roles defies the norms of world history and defies human nature.

They will lower the standards again.

Women dont belong in the military, they should be raising children.

WTF!
How are more people failing the 2 mile run?
The threshold for passing the run is far lower than it used to be.
In the APFT, a 21 year old man would have to run a 15:54 to pass. Now he has to run 21:00.
At my age (42) the threshold for passing used to be 18:18.

seriously, had to look up what a Hand Release Pushup is.
Now can someone explain to me how you measure muscle endurance by taking a brief rest between exertions vs. continual exertion? Seems counter-intuitive.
This fancy PT test seems awfully complicated compared to what was the traditional 3 event event and done.

2 Miles in 21 minutes is "difficult" haha. If you can't do that then jeez

Clearly we need to lower these fitness barriers some more to eliminate this blatant sexism and discrimination.
The most important aspects of a military are its inclusiveness and making soldiers feel safe and special.

Lol reminds of basic all over again, I'm AF but it was a little funny that all the guys got a nice break after the run waiting on the girls to finish. We only do 1.5 miles but shite even as fat as I am now I could speed walk 2 miles in under 21 minutes

The hand release pushup is harder than you think. You start in the down position and must keep your hands and feet at shoulder width. Once you hit the down position, you have to fully extend both arms and retract back in before going up.
Before you could just burn through as many push-ups as possible before resting, then struggle through the remainder. Here, you have to physically stop after each iteration.

For the Air Force, I laugh about how the physical fitness requirement for women aged 18-29 regarding the run time is the same minimum passing as the minimum passing time for the oldest male group (60 and above).

The Army better be careful, if they keep getting all this data supporting the old idea that women aren’t as strong as men, they might be canceled.

Yeah.. but what about the pregnant women and trannies? Surely they are blowing the tests out of the water to earn such praise from upper brass?

I am convinced that this may be an underlying reason this insane “transgender” agenda has been so heavily promoted by the Pentagram. Allowing men who “identify” as women to perform as such offers a sufficiently woke and politically correct way for the DoD to insure that women are not being disproportionately washed out by more rigorous physical fitness standards.

1 mile in 10.5 minutes. A very fast walk would be enough.

Why would you want to be in the military if you cant run a 10 min mile consistently?
