What is your specific assertion or concern?
They’re saying if results track the polls, they can probably call it early, but it actually seems like it may take longer because they’re expecting a discrepancy between results and polling.

In other words, NBC will call it early, EST, to convince the GOP voters in CST, MST, and PST to quit waiting in line and go home.

Democrats are heavily favored in public polling in the House and in several key Senate races. If those numbers prove accurate, it’s possible that NBC News could project control of both chambers on election night. But it’s more likely that determining the winners will take time.

I don’t have cable or satellite and never watch the news but I’ve had nbc news on YouTube the last few hours and all they’re playing is affordability and weather discussing how it’s affecting voting. They even had Guthrie on a bit ago. If they had a big blue wave they would be yapping about it but they’re not.

The point is that if Republicans do better than polls (ie, they are inaccurate...remember the key words "If those numbers prove accurate") then the races will be close and will take more time to call due to that fact.
Polls being accurate = DEM blowout and races can be called early
Polls being inaccurate = close races that can't be called early
This isn't complicated.
