As China parades out minority groups it is oppressing, @NBC continues presenting it (misleadingly) as just a US concern:

“The Biden administration cited ongoing human rights abuses by the Chinese government against the Uyghurs… as the reason for the diplomatic boycott.”

NBC last month: "We understand that there are some difficult issues regarding the host nation, so our coverage will provide perspective on China's place in the world and the geopolitical context in which these Games are being held."

This is what they meant?

Bob Costas, the face of NBC’s Olympic coverage for more than 20 years, said the network has been dealt the “worst hand imaginable” with the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

“My friends and colleagues at NBC have been dealt the worst hand imaginable,” Costas told The New York Times in an article published a day before the Olympics officially began.

“The circumstances put an inevitable damper on the whole thing,” Costas said, per the Times. “The average person now fully understands the nature of the Chinese regime. It’s not something that just news nerds are aware of. This is broadly understood.”
