NBA players cant opt out of SJ message but only the 26 league sanctioned

NBA players must have a social justice message on their uniforms, but the messages can only be those that have been sanctioned by the league and the players association.

So as long as the players promote leftist/Marxist crap, they can play?
If I was a player, I'd be fined to the hilt and probably suspended.

I read that Jimmy Butler wanted to opt out and the league ruled he ha to have a messsage, but only the ones the league and the players association agreed to. Thus, a devout Christian like Tim Tebow would not have discretion to advocate for his beliefs.

I believe Jimmy Butler requested to have nothing (neither a message or his name) on his jersey and the NBA didn't allow that. He can have his name or one of the approved messages.

OK, then I stand corrected.
Never the less I don't follow sports to have others political agendas or virtue signalling forced upon me, especially when the messaging goes in only one direction.

One of the player should legally change their last name to Hong-Kong. NBA would be forced to put that on the jersey. Heads would explode.
