Dr Naomi Wolf
@naomirwolf
Back on Twitter after 2nd suspension, this time, 1 week. I read ‘Twitter rules’; hadn’t violated any. Glad to be talking to 100,400 people who want to talk to me — but shaken that a peaceful adult journalist was treated like a 4 year old, placed in a corner. This is conditioning.

twitter

I admit I had to look up her bio. She's a Democrat, and a feminist. Evidently she had some opinions that were not approved by twitter

And yet, I bet she celebrated Trump being silenced.

C/Pd from Washington Examiner:

quote:

A former adviser to Bill Clinton warned that the United States is becoming a "totalitarian state before our eyes." "The state has now crushed businesses, kept us from gathering in free assembly to worship, as the First Amendment provides, is invading our bodies, ... which is a violation of the Fourth Amendment, is restricting movement, fining us here in New York state. ... The violations go on and on and on," feminist author and former adviser on Clinton's reelection campaign in 1996, Naomi Wolf, told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson on Monday. She added that the U.S. is "moving into a coup situation, a police state" due to shutdowns over the coronavirus. She added that what she is seeing in the country is outlined in her book about the 10 steps "would-be tyrants always take when they want to close down a democracy." "Whether they are on the Left or the Right, they do the same 10 things," Wolf said. "And now, we’re at something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. ... It is step 10, and that's the suspension of the rule of law. And that's when you start to be a police state, and we’re here. There is no way around it."

Was she literally shaking? I don’t think it counts unless it was literal.

She's liberal, but she's redpilled. More likely she recognized that it was a dangerous precedent.

you and I have been admins here for about 16 years. I can honestly say I have always tried to minimize my personal feelings getting in the way of adminning the site, it is very hard sometimes

that being said I always try to admin based on what is good or bad for the site, not what is good or bad according to my beliefs. I feel like twitter has bots running algos that are banning people based on key words, retweets and likes and their human mods are 100% banning people they disagree with personally

that shite is really bad for business

Then, I don't know what to say to her.

She fully and unequivocally supports what she's pretending to be outraged about. Don't give them power and money and then complain about what you give them power and money to do.

No sympathy, here.

If TD censored you continually, would you keep coming back? Would hope not

True liberals and true conservatives believe and agree on personal freedoms.
After 9/11, she wrote a ton of books warning about the deep state and big govt and big tech. She was right about almost everything she predicted.

It's progressives twitter, why keep crying?

If people don't like the options, create a new one. Billionaire Conservatives need to put their $ where their mouth is.

Facebook and twitter can easily have real competition, it only takes the Want 2.

If she voted for Biden, then what does it matter what she wrote?

She is supposedly “red-pilled.”
Is she though?

Why do so many progs see this as a one way street?

The Real World Consequences of the Masterpiece Cake Decision: How One Supreme Court Decision Increased Discrimination Against LGBTQ Couples....

....The negative Masterpiece effect is likely to add up to a meaningful increase in discrimination experienced by LGBTQ people. Couples of all identities typically contract with about 10 types of vendors in the process of organizing their wedding (e.g., reception venues, wedding planners, bakers, florists, photographers, videographers, bridal/groom salons, jewelers, DJs, and calligraphers). Many inquire with several vendors from each category, often amounting to 15 to 20 encounters. Taking these factors into account, I estimate that about three out of every four wedding-planning LGBTQ couples will experience discrimination they would not otherwise have encountered, had it not been for the Masterpiece decision. Of course, this risk can vary depending on the number of vendors a couple encounters.
