I'm saying Trump will never get his "Wall", not even with his name on it. It's a pipedream folks.

Since the wall is an absurd, dumb idea and also because Trump is clearly losing politically on this issue I'm standing my ground as a Democrat.

The wall, we will never negotiate on. Now if you want to negotiate about border security without a wall, we can talk.

Why, are you suggesting walls don't work?

Because the President is leading and wants to make meaningful impact in dealing with a problem that's been going on for decades.

What were your other questions?

oh right, you wanted to bash...

They have been doing this for every shut down for as long as I can remember and the Republicans have caved every time. I hope Trump sticks this out.

I am guessing your workplace won't put you on trial and possibly imprison you for not showing up for work.

they think trump will cave, but he wont, they still have no clue who they are dealing with

expect the shutdown to continue into march and even april if need be and the american people arent happy about that but no one is blaming trump because he has shown he has tried everything he can to end it.

every day this goes on reduces the number of votes dimms will get in 2020

You might think you’tre standing your ground, but there is no ground for you to stand on. Strategically placed walls and barriers do work.

Nancy has already publicly said even if the government is reopened she will not negotiate on the wall. How idiotic do you have to be?

The longer this fracas goes on the worse the president looks. I know there's no shortage of blame to go around for employees not being paid, which is illegal under the terms of FLSA, but the public perception is that Trump is 100% responsible for the shutdown.

You have some real stats for your assertions, or is it just your personal opinion you're sharing with us?!?!

Wow, that's a lie that even the left wing media won't tell. They put it at 65% and that's a lie.

Empirical observation. Everyone I've spoken to over the last month has said this.

Trump needs to make concessions, as much as it hurts his pride, get the government open, and make sure the workers are fully paid. Where is his leadership? The Art Of The Deal, my a@@.

OK, I've been waiting to see anyone on TV or print media answer this question. So, I'll try right here.

My question is one word: 'Why?'

Why is opening the govt necessary in order to start a negotiation? Why?

Because that is the way it has always been done. Open the government and we will talk about stuff. Then nothing gets done.
Its like someone robs a bank and the cops have it surrounded. Bank robber says let me go with all the money and Ill give it back later.

Yeah right. Sure you will.

It is like the perpetual continuing resolutions and no budget. Just keep kicking the can down the road. How long ago was the last budget, I think about 10 years. 10 frickING years without a budget. That is insane.

I hope they leave it closed. Trump should say he wants an extra billion for the wall for every day it is closed.
