Barr played Mueller. He called Bob about his letter and placed him on speaker phone. Barr has multiple witnesses and notes about their conversation. My guess the call was not scheduled and caught Mueller off guard.

Even if 6e were repealed, no judge worth his/her salt would allow its release under these circumstances. It would be applied prospectively.

No witness would ever testify to any federal grand jury ... ever again. And no court would compel them to do so.
