2) Why should it be split down the middle? Shouldn't it actually represent the population??? and, honestly, more specifically --- the actual consumer?
Blacks, Gays, and Transgenders make up approximately 15% of this country -- so for easy math, round that up to 1 out of 7.
1 out of 7 would be an accurate representation of the population. Now, play a little game. Watch TV for 20 minutes -- any show, any commercial, any news, anything at all.
Now tell me, how is that 1 out of 7 ratio working out? Did you get 5 out of 7??? 4 out of 7? Seriously, try it out. Then attempt to explain.

Star Wars has always been SJW to some degree. George Lucas said back in the 70's that the empire was modeled after the Nazis. Now that isn't so bad in itself, but now they've taken it further with all white people = empire. And all black, brown, transgender people are brave Jedis fighting the "man."

In a movie filled with laser swords and aliens and people who can move shite around with their minds, women being in charge of spaceships was the least plausible part of the movie.

Luke Skywalker(Mark Hamill) was right. They are ruining Star Wars.
This one was pretty bad, even leaving out political shite. There was less political shite than I thought there would be, but maybe because it's hard to see one kind of shite amongst a pile of other shite.
The movie was turrbl.
The shite that pissed me off the most was the use of the Force. In all the rest of the Star Wars movies, one had to work, train, and discipline oneself in order to use the Force. It was a struggle and took effort to progress. In these last ones, the ability to use the Force just kinda pops out like a fricking entitlement check. No real effort, no growth.
This one was pretty bad, even leaving out political shite. There was less political shite than I thought there would be, but maybe because it's hard to see one kind of shite amongst a pile of other shite.

You need to relax dude. No one is calling for minorities to be over-represented. White males were over-represented a long time ago and I was saying that unfortunately the pendulum swings the other direction to far as a way to make up for it. I am very much looking forward to where it is represented correctly. I don't know how you got anything else from my post in that considering that's exactly what I said.
PS - if the population of the world over was represented in movies more accurately there would be tons of Asian people.
