I have seen numerous posters on this board talk about how they have tried to talk family and friends out of getting vaccinated. Why would someone do that? If you don't want to get vaccinated that is your choice, but why would you try to scare someone out of getting vaccinated?

When medical advice has become politically compromised, absolutely she should find a different doctor and not take the poor advice.

It’s a reaction to propaganda. I would argue that it’s a natural reaction to propaganda.

If you are under the age of 70 and in reasonably good health, I'd try to talk you out of the vaccine. If you are over the age of 70 and NOT in reasonably good shape, I'd try to talk you into it. I'm not sure where this vaccinate everyone bullshite came from, but if you simply look at the statistics, the high risk elderly are clearly the ones that need to get the vaccine. I've asked my mom to get it, but she won't.

LINK

Link is NY times, a liberal newspaper with an article from 8/16 (so it's recent) stating that in NYC, hospital staff are only 60% vaccinated.

NYC, one of the most population dense, liberal, left leaning area in the USA and they are only 60%. Nation wide is probably lower.

I’m 70 and I’m not taking the vaccine but I would never try and talk anybody out of taking it. My blind SIL wanted it and it wasn’t convenient for my wife to take her so I took her.
My position is that no one really knows what the long term safety of taking the mRNA vaccine is.Any Dr. that tries to assure anyone that it is absolutely safe is full of shite. No one really knows including Dr.Robert Malone who said that himself, that no one should be forced to take it.Certain people with co-morbities should take it ,in that case the reward probably outweighs the risk.
I will probably take the Novavax version when it comes out, until then I will rely on Vit C,D and zinc.
I try and avoid any conversations about the vaccine.Experience I had last week is reason why.My good friend asked me if I took it,I told him no.He tells his wife and when I went by she started bugging me that I should take the vaccine.I explained why I wasn’t taking it.
She gets pissed off, starts justifying the reasons why she took it.I reminded her she brought the subject up,I didn’t and I never tried to talk her out of it nor did I tell her she made a mistake taking it.
The whole deal is getting tiresome.

I don’t think doctors choosing not to treat certain people is as uncommon as the OP is projecting.

Of course not, especially when doctors offer a treatment plan that is continually refused.

At some point, there's nothing left the doctor can do for you if you refuse his plan. It's time for both to move on.

Where in Florida does your mom live? I personally wouldn’t want the DR any ways if they pushed the vaccine like that.

Remember earlier when you said I was lying about people trying to talk others out of being vaccinated?

Taking council from trained medical professionals who have intimate knowledge of your personal anatomy is not blindly doing anything.

I beg to differ.

Doctors are not perfect beings who are all-knowing when it comes to prescribing treatment of illness.

As an example: My physician has been after me for years to start taking a statin for my LDL numbers. After doing my own homework, I decided it wasn't needed. My HDL and Triglycerides are in great shape, as is my blood pressure and other indicators. At the last visit, she again brought up statins and I told her it wasn't really needed in my case. She replied, 'Let's pull up the algorithm', thinking she had me cornered. She inputs my numbers, and lo and behold, the algorithm showed I'm at a very low risk for a cardiac event. Indicating I didn't need a statin drug.

TL;DR. Doctors know a lot, but they need to remember that little ethic they preach, called Autonomy. Patients need to be educated about the risks/rewards/ramifications on ALL medical treatments, and make their OWN decisions on what they choose to do with their bodies.

This place loved when businesses refuse service to people they don't want to help. Of course only when it's others that aren't getting helped. God forbid you or loved one has to find another business to provide a service.
