There's also "prudent" and "not prudent" when exercising all that good will.
The only missions that should be going to the middle east are combat missions involving thousands and thousands of cave collapsing bunker busters.

Well then I guess I shouldn't feel sorry for them since they will probably be in line waiting for St. Peter to introduce them to the kingdom any day now.

A A Milne, who wrote the Winnie The Pooh stories, was a missionary to Samoa. The ones before him had been killed and he had prepared a coffin to bring with him to be used should he be martyred while over there.
He ended up being successful in his mission.
He ended up being successful in his mission.

Can you or anyone explain why these kinds of people weren't getting the hell out of there, once it was obvious that the military was beating feet? I feel for these folks situation, but I'm having a hard time having a lot of sympathy for people, who don't use common sense. Why should more American blood be spilled, and lives lost, to save people without enough sense to know when to GTFO? I probably can't spell Afghanistan, and I know that there were thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands waiting for the day the American military left.

The difference is that Christians don’t have to feel hopeless when such atrocities occur. We can have hope and trust in God’s sovereign justice and His promises.

I kinda wish we'd get a running list ... a Georgia poster has friends there ... Meridiandawg has friends/family there ... Mid Iowa Tiger has a son in I think special forces there.
So many prayers for all of them.
So many prayers for all of them.

Maybe, but you know God didn't try to save those Egyptians who were chasing the Jews. He killed them. He killed a lot of savages in the Bible if you think about it.

Christians are not called to take justice into our own hands. We are called to preach the gospel in love for sinners like those in Afghanistan and in all nations throughout the earth.

Brilliant decision by your friends cousin and wife.
If they get out alive, maybe they can go to North Sentinel Island for their next assignment.

Yeah. Weird. They go where people need to hear the gospel, sometimes on pain of death. Where have I read about that?

If they can't be found it's very possible that they are beating feet right now.

Pie in the Sky vs being tortured to death for trying to help people. Call me St. Thomas, because I have my doubts.
Glad there ae people who can make themselves believe in something that has exactly zero proof attached. I just can't, never have been.
It's why religious zealots confuse the shite out of me. If hell exists, I'll find out when I die because that's where I'm headed if the good book isn't just bullshite

I'm not good enough with the Bible to debate you, but your statement implies that Christians should not even defend themselves. I couldn't disagree more. All that does is leave the door open for the evil and murderous to slaughter their way to victory, which is what has been happening for quite a while now.

If those missionaries were successful and converted families , did they explain what happens next? The Taliban, etc. don't take kindly to those who leave their one true faith.
It will take a faith as strong as the middle ages in the coming days.

The Christian missionaries who are potentially dying in Afghanistan are dying for something that they are convinced is true, and they have sufficient proof to be convinced to die for it, particularly the testimony of the Holy Spirit that indwells them.

I hope the Lord opens the eyes of all those who reject the truth and brings them to repentance and faith, including those who are destroying people in Afghanistan right now.

That would be best case scenario right now. Too bad they didn't have the brains to blow out of there before people had to risk their lives to save them from an awful fate.
