My daughter is liberal leaning

She got engaged a while back to a police officer. She had a hard time wrapping her mind around the "defund the police" movement because she knew all of the crew and found them to be good and decent people. I got invited to a few events with them and I found them to be the same. And shocking enough, there were black guys in the department and we ALL interacted together pretty damn well. She sees her fiance being called a racist by the public every 2 weeks or so and he tells her everything.
Her mind is changing and she's seeing what we have all been seeing for years. She's having long discussions with us about this and we are telling her the truth finally. 4 years of college is being eradicated from her mind and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of the deprogramming of my child. Welcome to being a conservative kid!!!!

My kids are in grade school and this is one of my fears already. Thankfully, they are in a nice private school with good conservative teachers and with kids whose parents are also conservative. Hopefully it will be a good base to prevent liberal programming while at college someday.

Depends where you live.
If you live in a state like Louisiana or Mississippi where there are 30% or more black people, you interact with them daily.
You live in Vermont where a black man is rarer than a unicorn and it is a very different experience.

Same. I already gave my kids a heads up about Critical Race Theory. My daughter replied “isnt that racist to judge someone by the color of their skin?”
I said, exactly. I told her to pose that question to the teacher.
My wife thinks it’s a bad idea.
They haven’t taught it yet. But she’s ready.

The “real world” has a way of clarifying ones views.
We absolutely need to stop sending our kids to liberal colleges. Defund colleges, not the police.

It is best to have your kids exposed to all views and all types of people as early as possible. Talk to them about the viewpoints, then explain why yours are different. And if that doesnt work point to all the bums on the street and tell them that they are that way because they are liberals.

I would like for you to define "regular black people", because I interact with black people all of the time. And they interact with me. It's the media that makes it seem like we hate each other. We don't.

My nephew lived in California a couple of years ago and was on the Bernie bandwagon bigtime. I told him one day to give 90% of his salary away and live on that and he just laughed and dismissed it as me being Conservative. Not long after that he started posting somethings about taxes and programs and more and more getting fed up with Cali and their government to the point he said the heck with it and bailed to Arizona with his family. I told him welcome to the Conservative movement and he laughed again, this time with me and not against me.

I would say that I failed as a parent. There are a lot of things I would do over. And I'm man enough to admit that I didn't do everything exactly right. But I taught her how to shoot when she was 10 and she's a better shot than me. I taught her not to depend on a man. She doesn't need a man. And I taught her that she alone is responsible for her own actions. But I did do some things wrong. I probably spoiled her too much.
