Can someone give me cliffs notes?

1) why is this kid not waring mask "properly" - does it not fit, is he intentionally not putting it on right, etc.

2) Public or private school?

1. He pulled it down to talk to peers in project after being told not to at least 2 times it seems

2. Not sure of that yet

3. BiteMe is on some roid rage that every teacher is going to the beach and not teaching, doing something inapproprate with kids, and we are all scum, and he is cussing a bunch. Three of us have invited him for civil conversation, but he is acting like a high functioning autistic kid which made the thread explode

3A. Two teachers in Arkansas have tried to explain that we are not union and he can not comprehend that

3B Teacher I think from Mississippi has tried to engage him about some of same quotes he has and he refers back to paragraph 3

He said it was a charter school. Not sure what that means in his area. Charter schools in Missouri are still publicly funded but privately administered.

Charters here are like academies here that specialize in a specific program. They are publicly funded but privately run and only answer to specific persons.

808 is my outline of events somewhat correct? I know there is some cheering of both sides of OP issue, but it seems to be background scenery at this time.

So really the kid is being punished for not following directions, multiple times.

That would explain why it blew up to this many pages so fast.

If your boss gives you a stupid direction, do you just ignore it? If you did, you would be fired?

Where are the groups of teachers rejecting teachers unions that protect poor results and failed schools?

I'd be much less critical if I had school choice where the $12,000 in taxes I pay locally, which go largely to the public schools, were available to me to pay for my child to go to another school. Instead, I pay another $7,200 to get my kid an education ON TOP of paying incompetent public school teachers' and administrators' salaries. Pathetic.

As a nation, our public schools suck. How is this debatable? Congrats, you guys are better than Honduran schools. *slow clap*

Interesting spin, but logically flawed. Everyone has a breaking point at which they are willing to be fired rather than be subjected to tyranny. This is how it begins, indoctrination, persuasion, subtle changes that progress until the breaking point. I'd prefer to never reach that breaking point, questioning mandates that don't seem logical or rational is how we avoid becoming sheep. When did it become wrong to question leadership and motives? This country was founded on objection to tyranny. Today its masks, tomorrow its worse.

His kids aren't being paid by the teacher.

If your example applies to anyone, it applies to loophole who pays taxes that goes to paying that teachers salary.

I am a teacher--upper elementary grade. I think the punishment WAY exceeds the "crime" It is very hard teaching/talking/projecting my voice through a mask all day and I feel bad for the kids too. Some of them are very soft spoken to begin with and the mask muffles their voices completely. We have not been allowed to do any group work at all because even with masks the kids had to be six feet apart (now CDC says 3 feet is enough)

I would want to know if there was any sass, backtalk, disrespect from the kids or if it was purely the act of taking down the mask a second time. Consequences may be appropriate for that but not a month of exclusion from fun things. That's crazy

Well see that's where my beef lies, getting written up is called a "minor infraction" and comes with lunch detention, no fun days, and no good behavior award.

Policy is any minor infraction excludes the student from fun days. My issue is that not wearing a mask properly should not carry the same punishment as a standard minor infraction. Because masks are stupid, these are children, and frick that.

Good thing the kid didn't protest against Critical Race Theory, or he'd be on death row in a federal prison right now.

Um, right here. Repeatedly

I'd be much less critical if I had school choice

I'm also in favor of this. But I know that since I'm a teacher somehow you'll tell me that because some union in an urban area is against it I must be as well.

If you're a union member, you support it. That's the way unions work.

Don't give me the bleeding heart, "we work our arses off 9 months out of the year for the kids" BS.

Public schools fricking suck. It's fact. Stats prove it. And for those of us who expect more, we still pay your salary and the salary of the teachers at the private schools.

So, frick off.

You really are fricking stupid. We both have told you we are non union. But your crackhead feeble brain won’t register it.

You’re either Oppositional Defiant or just on the spectrum. Either way you’re a joke. As I said earlier people are laughing at you not with you.

We’ve tried to be civil but you refuse to engage in such a manner that I have to use your verbiage to make you comprehend

Laugh all you want. Public schools still suck. Facts prove this. I pay double for school.

I'm guessing you support school choice? Most public school teachers don't.

The two or three of you attempting to defend the failing public schools are not convincing. Are you - honestly - NOT a union member? 72.7% are union in Texas. And the public schools are still failing.

You haven't posted a single fact that defends public schools, other than, "I'm a poor wittle public school teacher, stop being mean" bull shite.

We deserve better for what we pay. Or, give us a refund. Public schools are the reason Biden won an election. Be proud.
