You stupid arse. Yes I support school choice based on specific requirements and proven need to transfer.

Are you - honestly - NOT a union member?

How much more clearly can we say "I'm not a union member" than saying I'm not a union member. It has been said multiple times.

And I get it you, you dont like public schools. The truth is I can point out the problems within the system proabably better than you. I'm not denying the problems but most of the problems are not caused by poor teachers but rather decisions forced upon us by Dept of Ed and legislators.
I dont know about Texas but our dept of ed is filled with people who followed the stunning career path of coach - principal- superintendent-dept of ed. That and PhD's with no classroom experience. Throw in reps like Shiela Jackson, that you keep voting for, making decisions and o wonder it's a cluster.

My issue is that not wearing a mask properly should not carry the same punishment as a standard minor infraction. Because masks are stupid, these are children, and frick that.

Well, just assume he was written up for for not listening to the direction of the teacher. TWICE.

Kid needs to learn about authority.

Mask are fricking stupid but the issue here is the teacher is covering their arse. If the administration walks in and they are going to about it then that teacher will receive punishment. Now maybe it is just the teacher that is paranoid idk and that is a different situation.

So, if the teacher tells him there are more than two genders TWICE and he doesn't listen, should I ignore the context of the insubordination then too? Where does the line get drawn?

I guess once people have had enough of the bullshite, which is rapidly approaching.

Yeah, pay twice your school taxes to get your kid a decent education. Kind of stings. But I sacrifice because the public school system won't make an effort, and they're liberal bastards.

It's not hard to understand our frustration.

Where are the groups of teachers rejecting teachers unions that protect poor results and failed schools?

They're working...

Stop listening to that headline.

Only big liberal cities have teachers' unions that run the show and make decisions.

You are truly a moron if you believe that all teachers are in/support unions.

You are also saying that all teachers are incompetent. frick off, a-hole.

Not sure how you pay for private school education flipping burgers, but I can't imagine much else you could be doing with this sort of dumbass, small minded, idiotic point of view.

Hope you have a great day. Bite Me. Don't let the crowd at BK overwhelm you.

I'm jumping in on this discussion.

There are bad teachers that make bad rules.

My 7 year old son asked to go to the bathroom and the teacher denied him and he peed his pants in front of the whole class. She said he should have gone at lunch. She also had an I'm not ready for 3rd grade box. If you asked a question that she seemed stupid, you got your name put in the box. My son is an adult and still talks about how terrible she was.

At another school, my special needs daughter was routinely kept in at recess for not finishing work (coloring pages). She had speech problems. The main reason I sent her to school was to get social interaction. I switched her out of that school.

I taught my kids to come talk to me first, and not feel bad about getting in trouble at school. They were nice kids.

Original poster should talk to the teacher (and principal). Kids should not be punished for not wearing masks. If schools are requiring them, then use positive reinforcement to get the results. Maybe have a pizza party at the end of the year for kids who've done a good job wearing masks. Or they get entered into a raffle. Punishment should be for bad things like bullying.
