That they brought their 6yr old child to a gay pride parade is the problem.

Not nearly enough.
Exposing genitals in public, whether children are present or not, is a crime. Almost certainly a misdemeanor, but still against the law.

I feel horrible for that child. If they make it to adulthood an emotionally healthy, and positive person it will be a miracle.

Exposing genitals is a crime. Most indecent exposure cases are charged as Class 2 misdemeanors however. To me, if it's knowingly done when minors are present, it should be counted as a felony conviction and the offender put on the sex registry.
