As a SONG, it fricking sucks. Sounds like it was written in 10 minutes by a 3rd grader.

It’s not a hyper curated set lyrics coming from Taylor Swift. It’s a song written and performed by a very frustrated working class grunt. It’s true to form and feels authentic the way it is. That’s a big part as to why it touches so many people

It is a song about working class people getting taken advantage of, non workers taking advantage of the system, and politicians taking advantage of everyone. Even children.

It is no surprise who on this forum has an issue with this song. It isn’t political. Yet the usual suspects show up.

I am still waiting for a well written song from one of them. I am sure it will be incredible.

Sadly, they are too cuckold by their masters to simply say “I don’t like this song” and instead want to go down a rabbit hole of “it isn’t well written”.

But please, prove me wrong. Post up your song.

Lazy people with no self control.

The song speaks to a LOT of people. It did to me.

It did to me as well. And I don't like bluegrass.

Most of those YT music reactions videos are put up by folks for clicks and likes. It has nothing to do with appreciation of the music and their "reactions" are fake as frick

Of course.

Not a comment on the song or video.... But

You never see a "this is dogshite" reaction video.

People are making a living just liking everything under the sun...(even Disney Star Wars trailers). They got their rich man advertisement dollars.

Sports Station here in DFW took a look at this song yesterday and this is the one thing they picked out to bash it. Ignore the other stuff but complain that it is a song with mixed messages because he was bashing poor obese people.

So the rest of the lyrics can be ignored because he doesn't like that tax payers are funding obesity and laziness.
I have to admit it is frustrating when you see welfare being used to pay for meats and seafood that a lot of lower middle class people can't afford.
We can debate welfare impacts to society, but the rest of the song is spot on and is a frustration of the working class. The lyrics about the welfare don't negate the remaining lyrics.

That's what it's been astroturfed to make you believe it's about, but that's not what it's about.

BamaPOS doesn’t like a song hating on child predators. Shocking.

What is it about wise BamaAtl?
How has this been Astroturfed?
The record companies couldn't have gotten this song this popular if they tried.

Came out of nowhere, 200k followers in 2 days, then disappears from the public consciousness?

Besides, conservative media figures are on record admitting they astroturfed this and helped push it out to a right-wing audience.

And the RNC couldn't make Don Jr's book a NYT best-seller if they tried.

Liberals disagreeing or hating the song is really weird.

No one should like elitist and welfare people abusing the system

It has a line against child predators. Of course they don’t like the song.

BamaPOS has probably groomed 2 dozen young boys so far.

The overall opinion of this board, but more substantially, the opinion of many on social media of this song has been hugely positive and strikes a nerve across demographics including races. That is what good music is based on, reaching the people. And of course, Hank trashed the lyrics and writing from the get-go. Wonder why?
