I would equate Muslim extremists with the hand full of idiots that attack abortion clinics. Christians typically will denounce acts of violence (even if they disagree with abortion). Muslims typically will not only refuse to denounce, but a strong majority (80% iirc) will silently support the act of violence.
In short, despite them both being religons (related even), it would be like comparing apples and oranges imho.
