The tech used may not be identical but is comparable. Musk is launching and reusing rockets every 5 days. The no limit budget nasa folks have scrubbed the mission twice now and may defer till next year.

This is a great comparison of private enterprise and government capability

As I said the other day, and no offense to anyone anyone working at NASA, including my own family members.....

NASA is a freaking joke, and a HUGE money laundering platform.

Wasn't that way in the 1960's. But those 1960's were over a half century and two generations ago.

When NASA recently went to the Climate Change bullshite, I knew they were a lost cause.

I knew they were in trouble over a week ago when CBS Sunday interviewed several of the team leaders.

Every organization starts off with an innovator who is later replaced with a developer who in turn is replaced with a consolidator who is followed by an undertaker. (Hat tip to CW Taylor who did a lot to build early NASA staffing).

If SpaceX was given the 93 billion Nasa is planning to spend to go back to the moon, Musk would have a permanent research station and a resort up there in month's not decades.

Musk hires nothing but the best to get his rockets off the ground. NASA most likely all about wokeness and hires people based on skin color and gay shite.

Also...I love how everyone of you are blowing SpaceX right now considering it took them almost 20 years from the time they were founded to the time they finally put a crew of astronauts into outer space. NASA was founded in 1958 and put a man on the moon in 11 years. SpaceX is still in earth orbit. NASA is currently 0.48% of the federal budget, whereas they were 2% of the budget in 1969.

Now compare overall budgets. Lol

Obviously this leak issue is due to middle class America First patriots not paying enough taxes ….more taxpayer money needs to be allocated towards government ineptitude and inefficiency.

Show me a government agency at any level, and I'll show you an organization where the majority of people serve little purpose, mediocrity is rewarded, and racial/sexual identity is the primary measure of a person's worth.

It's shocking that we still have a NASA at all, honestly.

Using advanced missile technology from the defense department and Nazi's. They didn't do it from scratch.

That NASA at least took risks. If some of the problems that happened in the 60's (Grissom's capsule sinking, Glenn's heat shield, Apollo 1) happened now, they never would have made it to the moon. NASA would have been paralyzed. It's a completely different organization.

How much of this leaky rocket was built in NOLA?

NASA suffers from the same thing most government programs do.

Crippling bureaucracy, zero profit motive, and a culture that favors process over results.
Well, to be fair to the organization, it is overly politicized by MIC operatives who take care of Boeing, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed. If you could remove those companies from the equation and start from scratch, this Artemis thing would be completely different and represent a completely different look, feel and expectation that this over bloated failure of an organization.

Perfect example of why the government should be downsized and some things privatized.

When NASA began to award contracts for Artemis they gave LM Orion. After that and even though LM had expertise at building large, cryo-genic pressure vessels, NASA elected to award Artemis core to Boeing.

This MO of spreading the wealth around is inherently inefficient and de-incentivizes efficiency and innovation.

Well yeah, but they also didn’t spend billions on old technology to do it.

You think NASA’s first choice was to use old technology? I have no doubt they were told you won’t get funding unless the same infrastructure (jobs) are used.

So what old technology are you referring to and what's wrong with it?

Agreed, but I would think there’s some difference in orbiting the earth and going to the moon.
