I don't think we need to ram Amy Coney Barrett through because now like 2016 this will fire conservatives up even more to vote. Conservatives comes out and vote for the supreme court. Liberals don't.

Anyone who thinks this is happening before the end of the year is kidding themselves. The republicans are way too weak for something like that

So then this is a new precedent? Essentially, may as well be "non-lame duck President doesn't get to nominate for vacant SC seat during the entire year of the election"??

Worst case scenario for Collins. She loses either way. If she votes for the nominee then that fires up more voters to vote against her and if she doesn't vote for the nominee then she loses all republican support.

Her and Romney are definitely not to be relied upon to confirm. Probably a couple others as well. Swamp gonna swamp.

after the election or after the new senate is sworn in in January?
Remember there is about 60 days from election in November and the new senate is sworn in in January.

Hey Murkowski, it's kind of your job to vote if a nomination is made and a vote is called for.
