To borrow Al Gore's vernacular, here's the inconvenient truth about federal elections currently in the US. Americans on the right side of the political spectrum have no problem with tightening up voting processes and procedures because they will do what's needed to be eligible to vote. On the other hand, Americans on the left side of the political spectrum understand many of their constituents are not motivated to vote if any effort is required.....therefore lax voting standards are preferred by Democratic Socialists, such as mass mail in voting and drop box ballots, with essentially no legal recourse to verify chain of custody when challenged to prove chain of custody.

How many had 15 years to register and didnt do it.
How many women got divorced and changed their name back on every conceivable legal document but didnt do it to register to vote.
How many people decided to take a shat on the last day of registration, forgot to buy toilet paper, had to run to the store, and missed the deadline.
Okay thats half a dozen out of 330 million people.
murkowski is a POS and the fact that she would run to that liberal rag to make excuses tells you everything you need to know. Alaskans deserve that POS.

Seems a lot of Alaskans who consider themselves conservatives are more interested in isolating themselves from the state's political happenings by moving out into the countryside and unplugging from society.

The SAVE Act is performative nonsense. I doubt its provisions in full ever become law.
As it stands now, I’ve always shown ID when voting in person in La. In NOLA I’ve gotten familiar with the ladies who
work my precinct. They’re very conscientious and meticulous.
After my stroke I started using mail ballots. Everything seems to be in order
and fraud seems very unlikely.

In the hub villages, it would be like any standard election in a small town (ours was at the cultural center in town). Rural villages typically will have voting stations at the only church in town...or the tribal office/school
However, many of rural villages outside of that are only accessible by boat or float plane. Mail can be reeeeeallllly late...and unless things have been changed since 2022...all of the paperwork has to go through Juneau (which is also and island).
Biggest issue many of these rural villages have is they frequently dont have drivers licenses (no roads only boardwalks). They do have a tribal id usually issued by BIA.
