The difference is the media's attacks against DeSantis don't work. As I said above, for 3 years DeSantis was called a murderer and Florida was a toxic wasteland. The result? People from all over the country flocked to Florida because of DeSantis' policies. He won by over 1.5 million votes and nearly 20 points. The public (voters) saw through the BS and sided with Ron.
The media and the left played up the "stunt" of flying the illegals to Martha's Vineyard. They made him out to be a big meanie and get voters, especially women, to view him as a big meanie. The result? DeSantis WON the women vote, 53-46. Women saw through the media's BS and sided with Ron.
Why do the attacks from the left and the media not work on DeSantis like they do with Trump?
1. DeSantis is much smarter and far more articulate than Trump. He doesn't say stupid shite and he destroys the media with facts and clearly spells out his positions in ways that Trump could never do.
2. DeSantis' message discipline is vastly superior. He focuses on the issues at hand, not stupid shite no one cares about, such as which Z-list media member has a botched face lift.
3. DeSantis has nowhere near the personal baggage that Trump does. He has been married only once and has never cheated on his wife. That matters to people, especially to suburban women, and therefore they'll look at Ron more favorably. He also served in the Navy and didn't pussy out by collecting deferments. That matters to some people.
4. DeSantis is a much better debater and therefore is better at persuading people and relating to them that his policies are better for them.
