Heartbreaking

Don't quit fighting & be around her as much as possible, push for this.

Question every single thing they administer to her too.

Sincere prayers

Has there been testing for vitamin d levels at intake?

Just curious as there has been so much speculation related to preexisting vitamin D deficiency leading to increased risk.

Appreciate that you have obviously gone into treatment protocols with an open mind and have let outcomes drive next steps, we need more doctors like you!

I'm so sorry. Praying for complete healing for her and prayers to you and your family.

25 years ago, I had twins intubated, one for a month, for RSV. I know how terrible and scary it can be.

How are you doing?

A little hope. Goal to reduce oxygen from 100% to 80% met and sustained yesterday. Increase of nutrients from 20 to 45 met and sustained yesterday. Too fatigued to recall the volume but I’m pretty sure it was an hourly intake.

New goals for today.

Love you people! Thanks for the support.

Edit:
Dialed back to 60 from 80. Seems being tolerated well. Oxygen dipped from 100 to 97, but climbed back to 98 steady. If like yesterday it’ll climb further to 99 or 100. Nutrition at 45 being well digested.

Just curious and if you don't mind me asking...what level of sedation are they using?

I've received patients from other facilities where we were told weaning attempts failed but they were on so much sedation that they would never have succeeded to start with. Simultaneous Fentanyl, Propofol, Morphine drips, to the point of requiring Levophed to keep the blood pressure up, and they didn't understand why the patient couldn't breathe on their own. Pretty scary stuff.

Glad to hear of her improvements...some solid gains.

Thank you.

Your observations/concerns mirror mine-and-apparently her team of pulmonologists and other specialists.

Today vent dialed back from 60 this am to 50. Well tolerated and she is expelling fluid and they removed it and blood oxygen jumped from about 96 to 100. The pressure has also been dialed back today some.

Edit. 9:23 pm. I’ve neglected to thank all of y’all today. From my heart, y’all’s prayers and follow up posts have helped sustain my strength and hope. Love y’all. It’s hard to do so but I’ll try to keep updating as I’m able.
