More Proof That the Fix is In (Huckabee)

Washington Examiner article - Here Comes Huckabee
Just in case anyone thought that 2016 would be the start of walking back the growth of fedgov.
People I talk to ("conservatives", to a man) still seem to think that elections can fix what ails America.
Huckabee - nationwide smoking ban, general ridiculousness
Ryan - failed candidate, no excitement whatsoever
Paul - will be easily painted a wacko and turned on by the "patriot" right
Christie - bridge gate, blowhard, no chance
Bush - is this a joke?
It's clear that the Republican Party is content to play second fiddle as Rome burns.
I don't know whether freedom can be salvaged at this point, but I am pretty sure 2016 won't be the turning point.

Mike Huckabee is leading the Republican presidential race in Iowa. And not by just a point or two: in a new CNN survey, the former Arkansas governor, winner of the 2008 Iowa caucuses, is at 21 percent, with his closest GOP pursuer, Rep. Paul Ryan, nine points behind. Rand Paul is 14 points back, Chris Christie and Jeb Bush 15 behind.

well only an idiot thinks that one presidential election can change thing. The bigger problem is congress but we have been so focused on the executive frick ups over the last 14 years, we ignore the festering pit that is congress.
Huckabee is pretty likeable and not surprising he is doing well in Iowa. Iowans are very socially conservative and hucakbee fits that well, with no other candidate being the clear front runner.....a social conservative will do well there.

fat son #1: Paw, my teacher said that the earth is a bajillion years old. That ain't right, is it?
Huck: Son, we've talked about this several times now. Remember what the "Good Book" says - that God created the Heavens and the earth in six days.
fat son #2: (to fat son #1) Why you're… you're a dash burned idjut! You're a librul! You ain't no brother of mine spewin' that 'bominiation. Am I right, paw? Am I right?
Huck: Well Jeepers, son. I think we should all see if the fried chicken's ready. We'll discuss the creation story as a family. After we say grace.

You shouldn't make fun of people's weight.

Huckabee won Iowa's caucus rather handedly in 2008. This doesn't mean a thing. Far too much importance placed on the Iowa caucus IMO

I don't think the Huck has the national appeal to win nomination.
Which is sad. Despite having some very... ah... different viewpoints... Huckabee is actually skilled at running a government.

Why do we keep using these retread party hacks? the GOP isn't doing it's self any favors with it's candidates.

Correction. It's not doing US any favors. If the GOP's goal is for the party hacks to remain well-paid minority party hacks, they are doing themselves all kinds of favors.
Then again, maybe there aren't any viable candidates out there.

They really need to change up the caucus and primary process, as neither Iowa nor NH really serves as a representative sample of the GOP given the weight they pull in the nomination process.

Huck was my guy back in 08. But no more

Huckabee is such a joke. Would really like for him to just fade away.

You continue to work your way downward. Incredible your open hatred of Christians and their faith. Take pride in that vile filth you just posted.
Guess you can put me in their ranks as well. I am a firm believer in Young Earth Creation. Probably should be rounding me up and sending me to the camps as well.

It's not yet midterms and it's Iowa. This doesn't mean a thing.
