Google pays Apple $20B a year to be the default search engine on a 2B installed user base. One of the hardest things for a tech company to do is scale at an affordable CAC. It’s the reason why so many fintech companies ultimately sell themselves to banks. It’s not out of the realm of possibilities that whoever’s AI shows the most promise will be merged, bought, licensed, or even pay to access the 2B Apple users.

His education is in business. Holds an MBA from Auburn. So yeah, he is more concerned about margins.

Hey let's cut costs, innovation, go lean and raise prices while not developing anything.

I don't think we know what the next big shift in tech will be. I could foresee Elon selling a mobile device that has connectivity from Starlink. AI is currently the big shift, and apple seems to be behind, I don't need siri to summarize texts.

apple should have been a shoo-in to dominate the EV market
Do you even think before writing or you just throw up words and arrange them in order? How do even quantify that?

*I know you are intelligent. Just drawing you out!

Seriously, Apple was never more than a blip on the radar screen regarding EV's.

This is a little dramatic but yes innovation has been an issue with Apple.

Regardless, their current mass market product works well with their infrastructure. Cash cow

That's what made Jobs so unique and valuable. Experts hit a target nobody else can hit, geniuses hit a target nobody else can see. Jobs was a genius in that regard, Cook clearly is not.

End of April they ran a special $2.99 a month for 3 months. I watched a lot, it was worth $9, but after 3 months I had watched everything I wanted to. Didn't renew.

Is this also NOT a phone? We will communicate via a device that is not a phone?

Apple has $50b in liquid cash.
Apple's market cap is $3.34t
Apple's annual revenue is $383b (Forbes #3 behind Amazon and Walmart)

In 2024, the iPhone was ~49% of Apple's revenue stream. Services was 26%, wearables was 10%, iPad was 7%, and Mac was 8%. There are 1.561b iPhone users in the world.

In what world do you think that Apple is going to fail in the next ten years? In what scenario are smart phones going to be replaced?

Apple has completely bungled the streaming game somehow. Something is just...off about it. They have plenty of A-list actors and source material, but the shows fall off quick.

AppleTV has the best lineup out there IMO

Severance
For All Mankind
Ted Lasso
Masters of the Air
The Studio
Slow Horses

Etc etc….:

They don’t have the largest catalog but it’s the best quality by far.

Glasses will never be as ubiquitous as cell phones.

The only thing that can topple a hand held device will probably be some form of holographic tech where the screen becomes irrelevant and it can project on things or into the air seamlessly. (There would be some AR components to this for sure).

Until then, expect to carry a phone.
