Red counties have higher % reporting than blue counties. If current patterns hold, Jones would win.

They are looking at the current votes counted and trying to project how that translates to areas still out.

Many high population areas are still out so their model is saying Jones will make up the deficiet and then some.

It's big speculation on their part but it's still driven by data. The numbers are as good as their assumptions.

Dems always close late, when the urban areas come in. Times is projecting that Moore won't have a big enough lead to hold them off.
