Look up dead internet theory.

Some of the bigger platforms are already halfway there.

As mentioned on other posts, it's not going to make someone who knows nothing about a subject into an expert.

It's becoming more of a giant slop machine every day, and that bubble is going to burst eventually - the AI companies have to turn a profit sooner or later.

Morally I disagree that even welfare folks are “useless eaters”, but believe me when they say that they mean me and you not just them.

If you aren’t a member of a couple different groups you are a useless eater to the people making these calls.

Well, in my personal case, the people making the call are the people whose checks I just went deposit at the bank. They apparently have not yet been informed that I’m a useless eater.

Trickle down Economics has nothing to do with this issue.

There has to be a balance…..

If we used your logic, we should get rid of our cars and go back to Horse and Buggy. No more fork lifts in the warehouses. Workers have to move the cases by hand.
If we don’t embrace this incredible technology, our enemies will and they will dominate us. Frankly, I’m disappointed in the comments I’ve seen on TD on this thread.

You have 5 years or less to become wealthy or you will be on a universal pay which will be subsistence level pay. You will own nothing as they have told you.

We should be thanking God Trump is our president right now. Without him, AI would be running rampant all over the place and taking over everything. Trump knows how it would affect all of us, and he’s making sure to protect our working force from its harmful damage.

Our economy has never been stronger. Trump has America in a new golden age that no other nation has even seen. We have the strongest economy and it’s red hot.

Great, so let's kick out all the immigrants.

They told us it was because we needed people to do jobs.

Well, now we don't.

That's because the government is funding poor people without jobs. Get the workers to be reliant on the government for their daily bread and who gives a shite about people trying to better their position in life and make a dollar to turn into something THEY want.

They DON'T want people to have the means to make their life anything but what the rulers say you should have.

Is this sarcasm? Because Trump has clearly cozied up to our future tech overlords and has promised an AI “Manhattan Project.” The CEO’s of these companies absolutely will say anything to push massive investment into something they don’t even clearly understand what the outcome will be.

He is just as ignorant as most people who only listen to one side of an important issue.

If Trump cared about us he would be pushing for limits on current AGI /AI with narrow focus to keep it a tool that help humanity and a complete ban on the development of super intelligence.

Are you being sarcastic? Trump has been tough on AI in terms of it replacing our hard working Americans. Could you imagine where we would be if Kamala was president right now? None of us would have a job.

Capitalism mandates that this is what happens.

We are literally fricked

Why? "Companies" generally act just like you do; they save money when it makes sense. Are you juicing the shite out of your profit margins when you choose the gas station with the lower price? If you know something's going to be 30% off on Black Friday do you buy it the week before because waiting for the sale is greedy?

We are going to have massive civil unrest.

People have their heads in the sand and by they time everyone realizes what's happening it will be too late. Hell it's already too late.

The time for a serious debate about AI was 20 years ago.

The economic and international AI arms race has progressed beyond the point of no return. OpenAI and Google and the other big players cannot afford to tap the brakes and because of China, neither can the US as a whole. It's a major national security issue.

I've always tried to be as optimistic as possible in my world view but when all is said and done this AI madness is going to be something we will wish had never happened.

The benefits, which will be real and substantial, will not be enough too offset the unimaginable harm headed humanity's way.

Governments and people are in denial.

That's like saying the time for a serious debate about the internet was 1975.

When can AI do the job of the FBI to predict these radical leftist and terrorist shootings?

If we put them on the AI radar will it do better?
