How would sequestration during the trial alleviate a juror's fear of potential retaliation AFTER the trial is over and done? Do you disagree that fear of reprisal AFTER trial is over would have a significant influence on their vote whether they're sequestered or not??

I mean, if I were a juror I wouldn’t have suspected SNL directly threatened me. That would have sent me for a loop.

I remember a time when we heard how racist it was for anyone to cross a street to avoid a black person walking on the same side of the street.

Now we’re closing down schools because of concerns over the anticipated behavior of black people. Not a peep. Even black people agree this is a good idea.

I don’t see why you’re so sure it will mostly be black people doing it. If I had to take a guess if there’s a hung jury or he’s acquitted, it will mostly be white people doing the rioting.

I can't imagine any of them not being fully aware that they're involved in a pretty damn big thing. They're from the area, I'm sure they noticed the riots and lawlessness going on after the event itself. So this is just me, but I'm hard pressed to believe that the jurors have been spooked by anything beyond the already known gravity of the trial itself.

Could they have sequestered the jury the entire time? Sure, it's an available option for the judge. But I'd put my money on majority of the jurors if not unanimously preferred not to be sequestered from their families for an unknown amount of time.

I’m hoping he can get off but there’s no way they won’t find him guilty on at least the manslaughter charge

The uppity black attorney on HLN says this was a slam dunk for the state.

I truly want justice to happen...WHATEVER that may be, but I would be lying not to admit that I have secret desire for an acquittal just to enjoy the reaction of that smug little a$$hole.

The way this country is steadily being destroyed from within it wouldn't surprise me if they just went ahead and found him guilty across the board and put the finishing touches on any form of a fair justice system.

he probably gets convicted of the least of the charges,

unless the closing is very, very, good.

I think the defense has done a fantastic job. This time last month I thought it was 3rd Degree Murder, but they’ve produced reasonable doubt as far as I’m concerned. Just need one person on that jury like me and it’s a hung jury.

most posters closely following the case on the OT are in the camp of "not guity" of murder

Maybe negligence, maybe he should have provide aid to Floyd when they knew he had no pulse

There is no way 12 jurors are going to find him guilty of murdering Floyd

not if they saw the police evidence and videos

which they did

the media is pushing "the prosecution did so well"

blah blah...

Floyd was a druggie who resisted arrest, it's the same deal over and over

at this point, I don't care, but I do find it fascinating our country is full of ignorant people

It's so damn obvious that she wanted him prison a year ago.

If there's even a hint of an acquittal, she will have a "whitelash" moment that will make Van Jones' seem sane.

So, they're anticipating a decision in favor of Chauvin?

I agree

My prediction:

If not guilty, resulting in looting, fires, deaths, beatings and overall violence.

To be honest, I don’t blame these idiots burning down their city at this point. All they’re doing is reporting what the prosecution has said and the only bit of attention they’re giving to the defense is to mock them by saying they’re racist by pointing out he had some drugs in his system. It’s as if I was watching a baseball game where they were only reporting when my team was at bat. Hell we’ve scored 13 points, we’re fricking kicking arse, and you’ve reported that at one point our opponent fricked up a bunt and got out.

But then they’re celebrating that they’ve won just for it to be reported that the opposing team scored 18 points. They have no knowledge of any of their scores because the media won’t tell them it. So why the frick shouldn’t they burn down their cities when they think the score is 13-0 and they still lost?

frick the media, they are responsible for this.

Very good analogy and spot on to the situation here. The people that are going to be mad as hell because all they know is what the story that the media has portrayed. Facts, be damned.
