The U.S. Army, the largest service, has only reached 40 percent of its recruiting goal with just more than three months remaining in the fiscal year.

Fears over not being able to meet uniformed staffing levels might have informed the seven Republican members of the Senate Armed Services Committee who voted to require women to register for a military draft in June.

Anybody have the names of those 7 republicans?

The military gets over half of their enlistments from the southern states. Over half of the young men in the target demographic, ages 18-24, did not want to take the COVID vaccine.

Most young men from the south are conservative. They do not want to be lectured on pronouns, vaccines, and transgender bathrooms.

Polls found that the recruiting aged males see an “overwhelming political leadership” as one reason that lessens their desire to serve.

We live in a country with an administration that is at war with straight, white men and masculinity.

I would discourage any person I know, especially a family member, from joining our military today.

Straight from Idi Amin’s mouth, er Lloyd Austin’s…

I agree, and, we should hope that our young men are informed on this issue as they form their decision to whether to join up. It's an important issue for them, because they need to think about how they might, or might not, fit in with this huge organization (the US military) that they are thinking of joining. Will I fit in here? It's not automatic that you might.

Also, our straight white young men need to realize that, when the time for Promotion to the next higher rank comes, you may find that you won't have an equal chance to be Promoted. Other candidates for Promotion will be preferred because of their skin color, their gender (or lack thereof), or their sexual orientation. In the US military, it is "up or out", so, if you are not promoted, you are kicked out of the service, regardless of whether you have yet qualified for Active Duty Retirement pay.

The basic question presents itself - Why do I want to try to make a career with an organization that places me in last place because of my skin color, gender and sexual orientation, i.e. a Prejudiced organization?

Lol at not serving your country over a vaccine.

The rest I'll buy, and it's completely idiotic.

This.

When I was in the Army I never met a female officer that missed their promotion dates. And ... they were almost always granted anything they requested. If you were a female West Point grad you had it made, guaranteed to make general.

Would you want to work somewhere where your boss does not care about how you feel about putting an experimental injection into your body?

The fact of the matter is, the military is taking a different mission than the one of the old. It’s grown further and further away from the notion of, “serving your country”.

I believe people are incorrectly labeling this as a political divide causing poor recruiting numbers.

It's purely a generational issue. These lazy arse young people don't want to work ANYWHERE, much less the military that requires actual work and sacrifice.

Less to do with wokeness and more to do with laziness.

I did. For 10 years. It used to be called the United States Marine Corps. Not sure what the deniers and social heroes are calling it these days.
