The rest I'll buy, and it's completely idiotic.
Probably for the light infantry components of the Army and USMC and for the Special Ops folks of all branches of service, these new realities will have less of an impact.
Also, for the exceptionally talented light infantry warfighter with a proven record in a high op-tempo combat organization, these new realities probably will have no impact, IMHO.
But the "no or slight impact" group is a very small percentage of the entire Active Duty force.

For sure. I've been out for about 10 years now, and even then, the wokeness was just a PowerPoint we had to say we looked at and signed a roster. I can't imagine that's changed much.

I agree.
Also, you were responsible for a group of Marines, you did it well, and that's how you earned your pay. Leaders in today's military know that we have Trannys in the service. As such, having a Power Point class on how these people want to be addressed makes sense, purely from a "situational awareness" perspective.
If I'm a troop leader and I give a class on how to properly address a Tranny servicemember, I'm not condoning or advocating Trannys in the service. All I'm doing is trying to teach my people how to avoid forcing ME to deal with an annoying EO complaint in my unit. Time well-spent, say I, if it saves MY time by avoiding a stupid EO complaint from some Tranny servicemember because somebody in my unit used the wrong Pronoun.
But, yeah, it's probably just another Power Point class.

Cue the draft.
Equity would mean men get to sit out the next world war.
Everyone loves equity now, right?

Yep. My point was mostly that it's likely overblown. I've been working with the military in some capacity since I separated, so I'm not completely isolated from it. Never really noticed a huge shift there. But, like you said, it might be mostly the units I was in and have supported.

Young people won't even take "easy" jobs at &15-20/hour, they're sure as shite not going to join the military and really have to work.
ETA--if I were a young man, I'd enlist and do 20+ years just like I did in 1995. I loved it.

Lol at not serving your country over a vaccine.
They want to serve but our big pharma military leaders won’t let them until they get an mRNA shot. How sick is that not letting patriots serve their country? Very sick.

Requiring recruits to get shots isn't new. I'd rather get 100 flu shots in a row than a peanut butter shot followed by the sand pit.

I don’t know why any straight, white male would join the military.
They hate you. And view you as the problem with America.
Let’s see how this military does without us.

This should help.
quote:
Up to 40,000 Army National Guard soldiers across the country — or about 13% of the force — have not yet gotten the mandated COVID-19 vaccine, and as the deadline for shots looms, at least 14,000 of them have flatly refused and could be forced out of the service.

I believe people are incorrectly labeling this as a political divide causing poor recruiting numbers.
It's purely a generational issue. These lazy arse young people don't want to work ANYWHERE, much less the military that requires actual work and sacrifice.
There is no shortage of interested candidates. The problem is they are either fat and/or stupid. Most cant run a mile. Some have a B average in High School and make a 18 on the ASVAB. Its the pool of candidates not politics.

Good
Now make it impossible to vote unless you're registered for the draft

Trust me, I know. I was voluntold by USAREC to do a 3 year recruiting detail. U had to deal with that 6 days a week for 3 years.

The southern US Army installations were named after Confederate generals for recruiting reasons. They wanted to make the service more attractive to southerners.
The north didn’t have a martial tradition, it wasn’t part of their culture, and after the civil war, few southern men were interested in serving in the US Army. Together, this lead to manpower shortfalls.

It was always fun to hear old dudes who never served tell us how they'd have gone into "the Corps" if it wasn't for their knee or their bone spurs. The next generation's Marines will get to listen to old dudes tell them how they'd have gone into "the Corps" if it wasn't for that covid shot.
