He thinks it gives him some cover for being prosecuted.

No reasonable person thinks he could get the Republican nomination.

I don’t know if anyone else has commented on this but the poster Don Quixote posting this could not be more perfect as I can’t think of a more Quixotic quest than Pence running for president again. Tilting at windmills indeed.

Is he, perhaps, counting on the D's nominating Harris?

Did you think he meant run as a Republican?

He’s thinking Democrat. It’s a story they can get behind.

First of all, I think he’s got good morals and he’s a Godly man.

That statement is wholly incongruent with this statement:

Instead he saw the Lincoln Project/Never-Trumper’s shiny objects.

These were morally bankrupt entities and only a moral coward would align himself with such hypocrites.

ETA: wife just ruled it out.

I don't think he should have withheld the vote btw like Trump wanted, they stole it way before that day.

Lost in the news of the Capitol melee was the last minute petition by legislative leaders of the majority parties in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Arizona for Pence and Congress to delay certification:

More than 100 state legislators ask Pence to delay certification of electoral votes by 10 days: Lawmakers say they want more time to investigate the irregularities that occurred in their respective states.

quote:

"The U.S. Constitution gives us authority to determine how elections are run," he added. "All of that assumes the law is going to be followed by those who implement it. And now that we know the law wasn't followed in this election, so as state legislators is it up to us to determine did that have any effect on the outcome, to hold those people who didn't follow the law accountable and to make sure in the future those laws are followed."

Couple this with the fact that the executive branch in all of these critical swing states repeatedly ignored court orders, sandbagged legislative subpoenas, destroyed evidence and otherwise blatantly ignored election laws and the claims of an illegitimate election has not only NOT been disproven, it had scarcely been adjudicated.

Considering this unprecedented level of fraud, Mike Pence would have been acting well within the rule of law by delaying certification and sending it back to the contested states for further review of the election returns.

It is odd, I always felt in Trump first term that he backed Trump all the way and always seemed to be on his side of things.

The real battle will be with Vance, Desantis, and Rubio.

At this point I think everyone needs to clear a path for Vance. Esp since we don’t want/need change. We want more of the same.

So keep the guy who’s already there.
