Instead of the public statements made by Trump, we should speculate Trump said to Pence in private, “Mike, go in there and overturn the election”? What did you guys really want to happen? Audits? That would take six months. I didn't have a problem with Trump's initial challenges, but the game was over on J6. If a Dem pulled what Trump did, people on here would have gone crazy.

There was legal & ethically appropriate documents; that called for a 10 day wait or something as some States sent two sets of electors one for Biden one for Trump.
The courts had not rendered judgement.
J6 committee GOP & Dems (one in the same) had to change this.
IIRC: Pence was reported to be on the same page.
It was a set up at the very least.

there apparently! was no right on the part of the vp to send back to states.
Fwiw individual electors used to be expected to exercise judgement but many states no longer allow.
ps. Cruz is looking at seditious conspiracy too.
