My household tax refund decreased by about 2000$ this time. But our take home increased throughout the year by about 4000$.

Actual middle class here, about $80k household income. Haven't personally spoken with anyone who was "screwed" by the tax reform. This reeks of a social media disinformation campaign.

Nope. But now you pay the same in federal taxes as someone in Florida with the same income level and filing status/deductions. Your tax increase is the fault of your high tax state of NJ.

We have room down south where the taxes are more middle class friendly

2017 taxes = $5,408 refund ... Unchanged salary, unchanged withholding... 2018 taxes = $440 owed to the IRS. I’m middle class, single with a $83,085 income.#GOPTaxSCAMStories

That is a bot or someone that is flat out lying. That math doesn’t work UNLESS he changed his W4 to reduce withholding.

Without changing the W4. It is a complete and total lie. Fabricated.

But feel free to continue buzzfeeding everyone libs.

I’m not particularly upset but I owe for the first time in years.

Typically get back between 3-6k.

Sold a house, bought a house, changed jobs, had a kid. Still looking around for some additional write-offs. Job change got me off the road so I lost about 20k miles to write-off which typically helped.

I did get more back per check. Soooo offset.

The removal of the business deductions hurt a few folks. My fiancé is one of them.

A middle class tax cut should unequivocally go to the middle class

A tax cut can only cut the taxes that you pay.

The bottom 40% of wage earners end up paying zero income tax.

The upper 10% pay 80% of all income taxes paid.

Ergo any tax cut will predominately go to the upper 10%

Sounds like they need to have someone else prepare their return. This is a complete fabrication. None of these middle class folks had an increase in their effective rate. They screwed up their return or their employer fricked up their withholdings. Too many Americans confuse a refund or balance due as an increase or decrease in their taxes. That’s stupidity at its finest.

I’ve heard few good personal stories from anyone on this. Only good ones are people who make under 50k it seems. Anyone making 70-200k got bent over and fricked, including me.

frick Trump and the GOP for this. They will not win re election due to this lie if it’s not fixed and it won’t be fixed because the Dem house will let the GOP hang themselves with it.

Nothing but a handout to the very poor and the corporations and middle America got fricked and is paying for it

So are you implying that people who have money withheld from their paycheck don't pay taxes? Whether they get it refunded or not I'd venture to say that money is being used. And like I said before, just don't call it a middle class tax cut

I think you're missing the big picture. Taxes are once a year at the end of the year only. And the bigger the refund the better.

Never mind the accountant that didn't do his withholdings well or the sum on the bottom line.

Last year refund
This year owe
Orange man bad.

I'm not implying it, I'm saying it directly.

If the income tax is refunded to you then you in FACT did not pay it.

So they just loan the government money. Doubt it's used for anything...
